INTRODUCTION The FP32 is a convenient I/O ports kit for the new generation of computers. At an easy to integrate size of a 3.5” drive bay, it is available in either silver or black aluminum finish. By providing connections for four USB 2.0 ports (also compatible with version 1.0 & 1.1), one firewire IEEE 1394 port, and two audio ports compatible in AC97 and High Definition audio (Azalia) standard, the FP32 is also excellent upgrade for any aluminum case. High quality adapter

This adapter connects to an internal USB3 header to provide two front USB3 ports and will also hold two 2.5" drives. The USB3 cable is quite long and was easily able to reach my PCIe USB3 expansion card in the bottom slot of a mATX motherboard. If you need to fit two 2.5" drives then the fitting the bottom drive means you have to position the two parts of the USB3 cable so they go around the drive cage - it is a tight squeeze but perfectly possible. There are screws provided for securing both 2.5" drives and the adapter as well. The front panel has a high quality brushed aluminium finish and a discrete SilverStone logo. Highly recommended.

Just what I needed

I ordered this because up until now I have had to switch my jack plugs between my speakers and headset via my sound card connections in the rear of my PC. This was far from ideal as it meant routing my headset every time I changed between them and my speakers. I also had an unused USB3 connection on my mainboard, so this great piece of kit from Silverstone made absolute sense for me.

It slotted straight into my obsolete floppy disk drive bay (3.5 inch) and the cables had plenty of length to reach the required connections on my Asus Soundcard and my Mainboard USB3 plug.

It is simple and well finished in black, it is made of steel so it will be much more robust than similar items made from plastic.

I don't see how it could be improved upon, either in looks or value for money.

Does the job but needs a lot of 9-pin plugs

At the moment, the audio connections don't work, as I need to find a way to connect the 9-pin audio plug to something. The USB 9-pin connectors work well through their connections on the motherboard, but it would have been helpful for the information to spell out exactly what sort of connectors you are getting so you can allow for them on your system. Many motherboards don't have many of the 9-pin USB male connections on them, mine fortunately has three and the USB PCI card I installed had one too, so I was able to make sure everything but the audio was connected. Once I find that out, it will do exactly what was wanted, USB ports without the obligatory card readers.

The quality is top notch and the price is very reasonable. If I had a criticism, and of course, I do, it would be that because there are four USB 3.0 ports, there are two internal cables, which go into two USB 3.0 headers. A lot of motherbords only have one of those, so it would have been nice to have an adapter for usb 2.0 headers, running at 2.0 speed. But that would have driven the price up, so I understand why it might be better to buy separately, as some people won't need it.

Media connectivity in a small space

Very solidly well made made box which handles USB2 x4,Audio out, microphone in and firewire, only niggle was the weight of the cables which although giving excellent quality were difficult to move into the correxct places on the motherboard alongside nore flimsy cabling. I was using a Micro ATX motherboard which did not help. On a full ATX board in a larger case I would probably have given it 5 stars. Well worth the money.

as a novice pc builder i bought this cos i boke thye usb in the front of my case! for the price its excellent and after a quick search on google to find hoe to plug in the 4x 4pin usb plugs into the 9 pin headers its all now running fine! 4 usb`s all work audio sockets cancel out my speaker which is ideal! graet little product at a good price! good fit into the 3.5" bay too! (I didn't use the firewire)

This does exactly what I wanted it to. Needed a front audio port and this does exactly that. I had a spare my 3.5 inch slot and this fits in perfectly and looks good too. Item came with clear instructions (with a little bit of computer knowledge) so was easy to install. Had it in a while now and never had a problem.
