As a leading character, Amber is one of the best I've read in a while. I loved how her situation and her feelings about the things she went through felt very real. Her insecurities were real, without her coming across as whiny and weak.
And Craig... well, well. He was an absolute dream, and while I guessed his secret early on, I enjoyed the way it unfolded and loved how he calmed down from the "playboy" to every woman's ideal man under Amber's influence.
Very enjoyable read!
Amber is starting over after her fiance (also her childhood sweetheart) called off their wedding at the last minute. Her bestfriend Becca convinces her to go to a club where she meets Craig. Their attraction is instant and scares Amber who runs to the ladies room. They meet again by chance at Ambers school (she is a teacher) where he has been scheduled to speak with her class, it turns out he is CEO at a large company.
He convinces her to go to dinner to with him to discuss a business arrangement for her pupil but really he wants to get to know her. Things soon heat up between them but he is keeping something fron her.
This something was very obvious and I was frustrated that she didn't see what it was although the circumstances around it surprised me. I would have prefered that it had been hidden and made into a proper plot twist but it is still a lovely story
A very well written book with strong characters....a woman Amber whose heart is broken and she must now move on and make a life for herself and Craig ...a no commitment sort of guy....and BAM instant chemistry but not instalove.
Can they both move on together ? Secrets & lies and lots of heartbreak and laughter too it was my kinda book!
A bug bear for me in books is the push and pull you often get when one person is scared to move on/ commit but despite reservations especially on Amber's part I never felt that it was long winded or drawn out,but instead it was very realistic and the supporting characters especially the Best friends were terrific and bloody funny at times.
I devoured it and now wanders off for the sequel
I found it a little wordy, to much inner dialogue and very cheesy at times, personal preference I suppose.
