I would first like to thank who ever is responsible for the price drop to a level that is acceptable for an E Book .£10 was unacceptable then down to 9 something then eight something . Now 4-49 that shows how greedy. Someone was . .Yes I have had to wait just short of 2 years but what the hell . Even world class authors do not charge that price of £ 10. For there E Books So I am astounded that people paid that price for this one ..gob smacked even .. I don't think any e book should be above 4-50 to 4-99 Right I have had my say. . THIS Book had a good story Loved Puck in his heart he did love Becca from the get go but didn't know it . He just new he had to protect her . He also new he would have her one day . True to what ever he believed he never gave up on her . But Becca fought it all the way . Her mother well what can you say about her . That's for you to find out in the story . I did like hoe the Reapers we're involved in the story it was nice that the two clubs work easy together and the unquestionable friendship between Puck and Painter . I did read Reapers Fall which is Painters Story before this one because the same thing happens with his good Well over priced at £ 10 so I had to wait till it dropped to 4-99 . So now. Will we ever get a second book. In the Silver Valley series it's going on for nearly two years since this came out .I can and will highly recommend this book and all the Reaper MC books they are all a really good read . The best one. Is Reapers Property Horse as 's Marie . I bought that one in 2014 it had a different cover then better one. In my opinion . That one book grabbed me for the series I even think it got nearly a 150. Reviews . So happy reading and enjoy this book

Puck Redhouse a prospect with the Silver Bastards MC has just been released from Prison, he'd served his time and had protected his club. Upon his release he becomes a fully patched in member. So it's party time, this is where he spots Becca Jones, she's told by her stepfather to show Puck a good time. Even though he's had a good bit to drink Puck feels there's something off about Becca, something doesn't feel right. But it's the next morning when the full horror of the situation is revealed.

That was five years ago, Puck has watched over Becca ever since, things are strained between the two, Becca seems afraid of Puck. Then a few things happen and they're drawn together more. Becca has moved on, but her past keeps coming back to haunt her in the form of her no good mother and stepfather. Puck wants to help, but he's a biker and a scary one, the more she retreats the more he pushes.

While I liked this story, I didn't love it. My main problem was Becca, boy was this girl an idiot or what. She should have stupid tattooed on her forehead. I was beginning to think she had a personality disorder. We're given her POV as well as Puck's. Inside her head was a very annoying place to be. I want him, I don't want him, on and on it went. Their relationship remained stagnant because of her, so there was no growth in that area, there was very little chemistry. In the other MC books by this author the focal point for me has always been the relationship between the two lead characters. That was missing here mainly because of Becca she blew hot and cold about Puck for almost the whole book. The prologue was powerful. It did have a lasting affect on the rest of the tale and that wasn't good. I quite liked Puck he was a take him as you find him kind of man, a hard bitten rough biker.

Joanna Wylde is one of my favourite Biker authors out there, there are so many books that focus on Motorcycle Clubs that are just mediocre but this is one author that I know can deliver a gritty, realistic and emotional storyline.

This is the first in the Silver Bastard series and centres on a location in North Idaho called the Silver Valley which is located east of Coeur d'Alene, home to the Reapers MC. It is not necessary to have read the Reapers series, but it is recommended, because a lot of the characters feature heavily in this book.
_ _ _ _

Puck Redhouse is a prospect for the Silver Bastards MC, and along with Reaper member Painter, he's serving time for a weapons charge. On the day of his release from prison he is patched in as a fully blown member as gratitude for serving his time for his club and his brothers. To celebrate his freedom the Silver Bastards and the Reapers throw a party at a small MC called the Longnecks and this is where he first sets eyes on Becca who in his eyes is his dream woman.

After fourteen long months behind bars, he and Becca work out his frustrations in the bedroom, but when reality kicks in, Puck realises that Becca is not who she first appeared to be and he concludes that he must protect her and keep his distance at the same time.

Time moves on and Becca is finally living a safe life away from her evil stepfather and no good mum, but she feels equally scared and protected by the big scary biker and she feels strangely guilty that her body reacts so strongly whenever he is near. She vowed never to become like her mother, a biker slut, that she is determined to stay as far away from him as she possibly can.

Puck's MC brothers advice? - "Claim her or get it over it.
