This saw, in my opinion, wipes the floor with the likes of the Bahco/Sandvik Laplander. It can take a 2" section of green wood in about 3 strokes and a 1" section will come of in one draw!

Excellent tool, doesn't have a lock for the closed position so be careful with it.

The first thing you learn when using this very sharp saw is to keep your hands away from the business end. After moping up the blood from several cuts you'll find your technique quickly improves. It's far sharper than any saw I've ever used and cuts through 6 inch green hardwood like hornbeam with ease. I'm hoping my fingers will get better soon.

This saw makes a great intermediate step between a loper & a chainsaw. It seems to cut mostly on the pull stroke. The blade lock is easy to use and holds the blade firmly no matter how tough the wood you're cutting. Conversely, it's easy to press the blade lock by accident during use if you have your hand too high up the handle. The blade can bend if it gets trapped but is tough enough to not to get damaged. The saw doesn't lock closed but there is enough friction to hold the blade in the handle. It's comfortable enough to use for several hours at a time.

I can highly recommend this saw. A superb, professional quality saw that has a permanent place in my toolkit. Just don't use it if you are an idiot.

Being a professional gardener, I'm always looking for tools to help with my work. This saw fits the bill.

Light, compact and sharp. Great for working in tight spaces that a normal bow saw won't fit into and up trees. Have managed to cut some rather large branches, no problem.

As others have said, it doesn't lock in the closed position but this doesn't matter as it stays shut on its own, and locks in its two open positions.

I wouldn't defiantly buy again

good and sharp, seemed well built, my brother managed to snap the end off thoe. only the first inch, saw still works fine, guessing he was cutting down somthing too big and it nipped the end, over all ok tool for the job.

oh yeh, it has 2 set angles that lock in with a finger lock, don't try and take this past the second position as it locks in and you can only close the saw by taking it appart and re-assembeling it..

over all good

We have two. They get absolutely hammered and after 5 years I am buying a new blade for one of them because it has got sufficiently blunt it only works like a normal saw now... (Unkindly, we used it for hedge laying and the soil is not good for it) They are the tool of choice for the professional user, and I wouldn't use anything else. VERY sharp, but be aware they cut on the PULL stroke, not the push. This makes them much easier to control, but if you are not careful you WILL cut yourself, simply because they are so sharp. No idea how the one star reviewer broke his handle - they are very robust. You can however snap the blade if you force them on the push stroke - but you shouldn't need to, as I said, they cut on the pull.
They do seem a bit expensive on amazon right now, so shop around..

Very impressed, used to chop tree branches off, half inch to about 4 "! It was a lot better than using a bigger bow type saw, cuts on the pull stroke, really made light work of it, nimble enough to get into tight spaces, blade still feels sharp as ever once finished, it folds away quiite compact in pocket whilst up tree tying on rope. great recommend, my first choice.

Excellent folding saw. Razor sharp blade cuts very cleanly. The 2nd blade / handle angle setting keeps the handle out of the way for cutting deer breastbones which is what I wanted it for in the first place. I didn't notice that feature in the description before I ordered it but that is a really useful option for some specific cutting tasks.
