At first glance silvertide look like they should belong in the seventies, and it is from this great time of rock where there influence has mainly come.
From start to finish 'Show & tell' is a well rounded album. From the opening track 'aint comin home' to the last ' foxhole j.c' it is cram-packed with awesome guitar riffs and classic rock lyrics.
It is good to see a modern band going back to the roots of rock,
ofcourse there is a contemporary feel to the music but i think this is only due to the vocals. However the lead vocalist has a distinct voice which carries the songs well.
Thank god there's a new band who know how to rock!!

This album takes old rock 'n' roll and gives it a modern twist. If you are getting board with the number of emo/scremo bands that are coming out then this is for you. It has influences from Ac/dc, Guns 'n' roses and many other clasics. I think that eth best track on the album has to be ain't coming home its great, great solo, great riffs and great vocals. The album follows the same trend with excellent vocals and guitaring throughout!
To conclude buy this album!

Show and Tell-Silvertide
This album is a breath of fresh air after many years of mediocre bands and the nu-metal explosion. the band make a welcome return to the usual layout of a rock band, 2 guitarists,1 bassist, 1 drummer and a lead singer. there are no crappy djs or keyboard players that have appeared in so many so called rock bands of late. The line up is Walt Lafty-a great vocalist with a voice not dissimilar to the lead singer of the black crows and at times is not to dissimilar to Axl Rose or Robert plant. Lead guitarist Nick Perri- a powerfull, explosive guitarist with a style simmilar to slash and the talent and the youth to one day be the next guitar hero. He has created some quality riffs on this album eg, blue jeans, mary jayne but there is room for improvement, i have high hopes of him and look forward to an intresting career. Mark Melchiorre-a solid rhythm guitarist with a bluesy style, also provides piano solo for foxhole jesus christ, one of the more interesting tracks on the album. Brian Weaver- bassist and part of the very tight rhythm section, he adds another layer to the sound of the band as he doesn't just follow the guitarist like many bands eg AC/DC. Kevin Frank, the drummer of the band with a very classic sound, lots of cymbals and bass drums. A very competant drummer with a sound that fits the band perfectly unlike other drummers which don't seem to fit and detract from the bands sound. There is an interesting mix of songs on the album ranging from hard rock, bluesy rock and surprisingly to a slow ballad. The best songs on the album are; Mary Jayne- a hard, fast paced rock song with an excellent shredded solo and searing vocals. Devils Daughter- a bluesy song with a classic sounding solo, lyrics follow a simmilar theme to many of the songs.

I agree with the above reviewer, in that i have also been waiting a long time for this album to be released (and delivered, since for some reason it has not yet surfaced properly in this country) but it truly has been worth it!
The songs smack highly of Aerosmith/AC/DC/Led Zeppelin influences, but these lads still manage to produce something that is original and amazing!
Doubtless when it is distributed fully it will recieve the highest acclaim from everybody who is a fan of rock music, but till that time get it and see for yourself!

I have been waiting for this album to be released for over a year now, and its been well worth the wait. There are some incredible tracks on this. There are immediate thoughts of Led Zep, Aerosmith and G'N'R with the mighty front duo of Lafty and Perri. Perri's solos are just incredible and is something which has been lacking in the world of rock. BUY THIS ALBUM!!!!
