As a fan of the Hot Shots films, particularly the second one, I was looking forward to its release on DVD, but now that I have it, I'm very dissapointed. Naturally, the sound and picture quality are both excellent, and the additional material (movie trailers) is fun to watch. But unfortunately, the films are cut. Hot Shots Part Deux is missing at least 5 minutes of footage, including all of the scenes of Topper/Michelle in the back of the limo, and in bed together. There are also several cuts made for language. Don't waste your money. Wait until it's back on TV and tape it...

Hot Shots! - Brilliant film. Totally worth watching many times, and has held up pretty well (watch Top Gun first though to get the most out of it).
Hot Shots Part Deux - Could have been brilliant but has had some of the funniest moments cut, including the excellent scene in the back of the limo. As this is one of the funniest scenes ever it is greatly lost, and lets down the package completely.
So, buy this, then "obtain" a copy of Part Deux without the cuts to appreciate this movie fully.

Hot Shots and Hot Shots Part Deux are two extremely funny films that have survived the test of time. What they haven't managed was to survive the edits. That's right - parts of the second film have been cut, and there is nothing on the packaging to indicate that it has been abridged.

And you know what the REALLY stupid thing is...?

You can see part of what has been cut by watching the trailer on the DVD for the second film!

Save your money, and try and find an edition that hasn't been cut. When you have it, please let me know what it is as I would like to watch the second film in its entirety once more!

This is without doubt a 5 star comedy all round, one of the greatest comedy films of all time and always will be, awesome story that loosely follows top gun Hot Shots is ridden with finely crafted comedy and fantastic jokes that cannot be ever done again in the same way, the cast is perfect all-round with great effect with the characters! This is Jim Abrahams baby and im so glad it was made!! Its one of those little gems that you keep forever! Plus the U.S version is the proper uncut version!!
HOTSHOTS PART DEUX
Both Hot Shots movies are without doubt 5 star comedies!! Flawless and unbeatable classics from the 90's. This sequel is fantastic and follows the plot of the first 3 Rambo movies! The jokes and the spoofs are spot on and absolutely perfect! Jim Abrahams is a genius for making these films that can be loved by generations of people and always be funny!!!! The cast is perfect again, and the U.S version is totally uncut including the love scene which is chopped out the U.K version. Must own comedy gem!!

Very pleased with the picture quality, and the delivery time period. It arrived far quicker than I realised, just found it lying on my bed!
But what let me down is that one of my favourite scenes had been deleted. The limo and sex scene are the most memorable, and halarious by far in comparison to the others. Very displeased, don't buy this item, just wait until it's on TV or pop down a shop that sells second hand DVD's such as Blockbuster. An awesome DVD, made unawesome just because a few scenes were deleted, what a shame...

These two films are made in the genre of the Airplane and Naked Gun movies. Really funny with loads of spoofs especially Top Gun and Rambo. The film may not be original considering that I've already mentioned 9 films already but yet this film may have been the forerunner to the scary movie, date movie, epic movie franchise.

Enough said, now I've mentioned a further 6 films...go watch both these movies and laugh !!! Best remembered for the frying egg scene on Golino's flat tummy.

a two pack dvd collecting the hot shots movies, two films from the 1990's. in the style of the airplane films, with never ending gags coming thick and fast, the first spoofs top gun. the second spoofs rambo. and both spoof anything else the writers could think of.

If you like this style of comedy then this should appeal. the gags come thick and fast and no matter if one doesn't hit the mark, as there'll be another along in a second. And the first film has one of the best opening title scores ever.

each disc contains the original cinema trailer as the only extra.

I hadn't realised the second film had been cut. the fight scene presumably because the film censors board do not allow shots of that type of weapon in any dvds. Why the limo scene has been lost I can but wonder.

Two fun films in one good pack. and they'd get five stars if it wasn't for those cuts.

The Part Deux DVD is incomplete!!! There is a scene missing. Don't believe me? Check the run time. This region 2 release runs for 83 minutes, the region 1 release runs for 88 so despite what other reviewers might say, that's five minutes missing! If you have seen the full film the missing scene is the car ride and "Basic Instinct" spoof which I thought was really funny.
