I loved the first two Shopaholic books, and I can thoroughly recommend the third in the series. When I heard that a trilogy was planned, I was apprehensive that there could be no more mileage in the format - in the first two books, Becky Bloomwood gets spectacularly into debt and manages to rescue the situation through a combination of luck and personal initiative. How could that work a third time? Fortunately, the author doesn't try to. The plot of Shopaholic Ties the Knot instead plunges Becky onto a rollercoaster dilemma unrelated to her spending habit, but arising nonetheless from her already established weaknesses. The cast of characters from the first two books are developed and deepened, and once again it's funny, light-hearted and spot on in its observations. It's also a compulsive page-turner and if I had nothing else going on, I probably wouldn't have put it down until I read it straight through. Extremely entertaining.

What a funny book. Coming away from the shopping a bit but making us like Becky more and more. We have all been in a situation where we got a bit carried away and didn't know how to resolve it. This book had me gripped until the end again to find out where she gets married and how she lets whoever down.

What a great book! I couldn't put it down. Any savy girl can totally relate to Becky Bloomwood! Somehow Becky always gets herself into the most unusual situations, yet manages to make it through them. I laughed out loud throughout the entire book. Her dream career being a personal shopper and her dream man Luke, what more could a girl want (except for Sophie Kinsella to crank these books out quicker!!) All the shopaholic books are super, you won't be disappointed. (Hopefully this isn't the last of Becky Bloomwood Brandon!

Having read Sophie Kinsella's first two novels in the shopaholic series, I couldn't wait to start reading this one and was not disappointed. As a girl who loves her clothes, I can identify with Becky Bloomwood - you probably have to be of the same mind to truly enjoy this frothy series - and the story of her engagement and the chaos that arises from both mother and mother-in-law planning their own, totally different styles of wedding for her made me laugh.
Fun and yet very perceptive, it's a great read and brilliant entertainment - read the other two books first and you'll enjoy it even more.
I really hope the author is planning to make this series run and run ... !

I am addicted to these book and can never out them down and I am always dying to read more and I was lucky enough to be able to end this book on holiday in Spain. These books are always light hearted and just what you need on holiday or just to lounge around the house.
Luke finally proposes to Becky which is perfect and her dream has come true or has it? How would you feel if your soon to be mother in law takes over and gives you a over the top wedding with a wedding planner included. Sounds like a fantastic idea doesn't it
? But Becky is happy to have this lavish wedding in New York at first but then her mother starts to plan a small low key wedding in England and Becky doesn't have the heart to tell her mom no and so she ends up with 2 weddings and has to make the heart breaking decision to pick between them both but, it doesn't turn out that way and things Slowly fall into place.

Whenever I feel a cake craving coming on in future, I’ll just reach for this book. A few pages is all it takes and it’s like I’ve eaten a luscious slice of strawberry cream gateaux. I swear I could taste sugar and champagne on every page.
Kinsella has done it again with the third in a delicious trilogy of books so frothy, it melts in the mind like pink-coloured candy floss.
There’s the sumptuous shopping detail again that makes you long to rush out, spend all day in the shops and return clutching posh plastic carrier bags.
But, even better, there’s a fabulous plot that has you rushing through it in a can’t-wait-to-see-what-happens way.
I think it was milked just a leeetle bit too much this time and could have been about 50 pages shorter, maybe. And some of the characterisation is more than a little stretch. Would, for example, Luke REALLY care so much for his mother’s approval when he has a much nicer step mum who gladly stepped into the gap left when his truly appalling mother took off?
Ah but then we wouldn’t have had the rattlingly good plot, would we? And the tension was such that you really couldn’t see a way out this time for Becky. This was just THE biggest mess she’d ever got herself in. Just how WOULD she resolve it?
A cracker. I read it on holiday and it felt exactly like a book of this genre should feel - a real treat. A true girlie read. Save it for a wet weekend, a night in when there's nothing on the telly, a long train ride - or just when you need to treat yourself.
Brain candy at it's very VERY best...

I must be a rarity amongst 'Shopaholic' readers, because I really can't quite get over the irresponsibility of these books. I read the first one with a frown that grew even deeper as I read the second, now having finished the third, I really wonder what message Sophie Kinsella is trying to deliver with this series. I can't figure why people find these books funny. The character of Becky comes across as person incapable of.. telling the truth, controlling her irresponsible spending habits, and unable to act as a mature adult. She's very stupid and very annoying. She's clearly got serious 'issues' that she needs professional help with, and the only message Kinsella seems to put across her Shopaholic series so far is, its okay to get severely in debt, lie and cheat to your family and friends about everything, and don't worry about the money or any other problems because something miraculous will happen to get you out of trouble! In other words, spend spend spend and don't worry about the consequences!!!! Really really irresponsible in this day and age spiralling consumer credit debt. Don't think I'm going to read the rest, even though I've got them, and certainly don't think I'd even pass them to a charity shop, more like just dump them in the bin.
