okay, so I really didn't expect this. Lani Lynn Vale quickly became one of my favourite authors with the freebirds series, and just has improved all the way through and this series is no different. starting off strong on the first book and it also gives hope for the rest of the season and the characters we al fell in love with, and with the addition to learning about those we hadn't heard much of that kept popping up and also new characters. I cannot wait to sink my teeth in to the rest of this series and see where Lani takes us. I'm sure the ride will be as amazing as it has been so far.

This book completely shredded me in the first half, I cried inconsolably and couldn't even see past my tears to keep reading at one point!

Lani Lynn Vale has fast become one of my favourite authors. She pours so much emotion into her stories that you feel like your experiencing the same devastation, pain, joy and every other emotion the characters are feeling!

Taimi is Jack’s younger brother, Jack is from the FreeBird series and we get to catch up with a lot of characters from the other series’. Tai classifies himself as a FK up. He has a bit of a rough past and he struggles with guilt he is carrying for a situation. I felt so bad for him in parts of this book, I hated the way Jack treated him like a child. The way Tai rallied to try and help Mia really stuck with me, I loved how invested he got and he was devastated by the end result.

Mia has just been dealt a sh!t hand and turns to Tai for help, she doesn’t realise he will play a bigger part than she has asked him to. My heart ached for Mia.

I really love Lani Lynn Vale’s series her writing always flows and draws me right into the stories, the way they are all intertwined is something that really appeals to me and I enjoy getting to see what happens with the characters we already know and love. This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster and I felt rung out when I had finished.

There are parts in this book that could be classified as triggers for some readers.

Lani Lynn Vale is one of the very few, and I do mean very few authors that I will break a golden rule for, I don’t care what I am reading if a book of hers hits my kindle while I am mid read I will stop…I know so… out of order but I know that I won’t settle reading anything else while I have one of Lani’s books just waiting for me, so it is a case of being fair, I do go back and finish the book I was reading honest, but I have to read this authors work immediately its almost addictive!
I have as you would expect read every word this woman has written and while some have completely blown me away I am big enough to say that not all of the books have hit the dizzying 5 stars with me but I am undeterred and when I got the heads up that this was a new series, well life was rosy once again, I couldn’t wait!
Lani switched things up a bit in this book, not adverse to tackling difficult subjects, in this book she took every parent’s worst nightmare and gave it a chance to breath, to explain and explore she didn’t shy away from showing through Mia the absolute devastation that loss she was experiencing had on her, she didn’t hide the fact that it was difficult to function, to open your eyes each morning, to put one foot on the floor and to just exist because that is all she could do… exist.
Mia’s life as she knew it was over and while her heart felt that it might never have the opportunity to truly beat again, my heart broke for her, I found what she had been through terrifying.

From the devastating beginning to the wonderful end this book pull so many emotions from you. There seems to be nothing that the incomparable Lani can write that I will not love. This is Tai's story and how I never seem to have obviously read the Freebirds series he's a new character for me. Tai is a man suffering from demons of his past where he still feel responsible for actions that technically wasn't his fault. He was young and dumb and didn't think about the consequences of his actions which led to him having guilt. Enter Mia Darling a woman looking for help. One conversation between the pair changes both of their lives. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry this book touches my soul and leaves me captivated. The characters, the plot and the emotions I felt there is no comparison. Lani is at the TOP of her game and I am definitely HOOKED.

Loved. All Lani Lynn Vale's previous books and this does not disappoint. I won't give any spoilers as I hate them! But this book will make you laugh and cry in equal measure. A difficult subject is dealt with in a sensitive and moving way. If you have not read anything by this author before, give this book a try. You won't regret it. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

I've always liked Lani's books and they are usually something I just automatically buy. This was no exception but I didn't really like it - not because of plot but of the way it read.
It's a love story about Mia and Tai. There's romance, heartbreak, intrigue and a small mystery but none of it was in any depth.
It could have been a fantastic book but it was so light I reread the first part because I thought I was missing details. I wasn't, they just weren't there.
I hovered between two or three stars. In the end three won out but only because the end read better.
It's far too short and I wondered whether or not because of her popularity the author is pushing out shorter books to the detriment of content.
