Japan original 11 CD + DVD box set release from Bon Jovi. All CDs features the high-fidelity SHM-CD format (compatible with standard CD players) and cardboard sleeve (mini LP). Includes 11 albums: "The Circle," "Bon Jovi," "7800 Fahrenheit," "Slippy When Wet," "New Jersey," "Keep the Faith," "These Days," "Crush," "Bounce," "Have a Nice Day," and "Lost Highway," plus a bonus DVD. Features 2010 remastering. The SHM-CD [Super High Material CD] format features enhanced audio quality through the use of a special polycarbonate plastic. Using a process developed by JVC and Universal Music Japan discovered through the joint companies' research into LCD display manufacturing, SHM-CDs feature improved transparency on the data side of the disc, allowing for more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head. SHM-CD format CDs are fully compatible with standard CD players.

Well.i usually buy cds from cd Japan and never been disappointed in quality of cds and usually get extra tracks on Japanese editions.so when I seen this I thought it would be a cheaper option as all bon jovi collection together. Rather than buying separately from cd Japan. But when this item came I was disappointed as 3 of the discs I'm not happy with. One disc is scratched and 2 others have marks on the covers/sleeves.so I've ordered these 3 cds separately from cd Japan. As it will make up the collection. But when they came you can see a difference in quality from the cd covers. So I'm guessing this box set is a less quality set due to price. Don't get me wrong the cds are same quality just the cardboard covers and paperwork inside.nothing to do with sellers so that's why I'm kinda explaining this

A great box set that is as good as it gets for fans, if pricey

This lavish box-set of Japan exclusive bon jovi special editions is the ultimate collection of the band's work which is entering its fourth decade. However while the older 80s albums sound much better, there is little difference in the more recent albums and frankly the version of "The Circle" for example sounds no better than the standard uk release. SHM-CDs are supposed to offer more detailed audio, but this was scarely detectable through my admittedly hundrum audio system.

As these box sets are an imported japanese release, and the yen being so strong the price of this set via the band website was always prohibitive. It is expensive and given that the online "vault" of exclusive material has been closed to those who bought the set, you do not get any exclusive extras that a set of this price would warrant to provide satisfaction.

However if you want all the albums in one set with the best possible presentation, this is the only choice. The cds and inserts are stunning. These are vinyl reproductions in the same vein as The Beatles MONO set, but unlike the fab four the most recent Bon Jovi albums do not have the historical context to warrant such presentation. The classic albums get live tracks, cool inserts and original inlays. The more recent releases obviously do not need these and simply contain a Japanese lyric booklet with an access pass reproduction.

If you are a real fan this box set is a must buy, but I think Bon Jovi produced too many weaker albums in the past decade for them to warrant increasing the price of a box set that has only 5 albums deserving of such classic treatment.

bad pricing

listen bon jovi are one of the greatest rock bands to last this long, bon jovi are worth 1 billion us dollers do they need extra money they keep sending the same stuff out same music how many more times does a fan have to listen to the same music, they have bought a new album out circle great album, i went to the o2 arena old stuff more than new, went to hyde park last year the same just dont understand the context of there minds still a great band lets see what the new album and tour bring in 2013.
