I bought the book thinking it was a good buy since it covered both wet and dry shipping laws. However to my utter dismay, the author has successfully baffled all his readers with his literary works. He has barely explained the chapter in his own context but repeatedly relied upon case laws to explain the chapter, making the textbook a gigantic collation of case laws!! I suggest reading a copy from any library before investing any money on it!

This is an excellent and, unusually for Shipping Law, an affordable book which considers a wide range of the "wet" and the "dry" aspects of the law. The author is a distinguished contributor to some of the very expemnsive shipping law books and it really shows. Whether you are a student (or teacher) of shipping law, the Carriage of Goods By Sea, or even international trade law with a maritime aspect, this is an excellent purchase.
