I would recommend you get a size up. I am a uk 10 and ordered size 11 after trying other shimano shoes on in a shop. Size up fitted perfectly.
Also noticed there is a wide fitting of this shoe on other sites for those with wide feet.
Extremely comfortable to wear on and off the bike. When riding, you can't feel the shoe at all, it just tightly supports your feet and feels very natural.
I ride clipless on a brakeless fixed gear so they go through a lot of stress but they're holding up brilliantly.
They look fantastic and the ratchet closure really helps to get a tight fit.
I stopped at a shop with friends to get a drink and found a £1 charge for debit cards so RAN 100m down the road to an atm in these shoes and they were absolutely fine! they're stiff but because of the natural curve of the shoe, they're extremely comfortable to walk in. Rode 40 miles in them yesterday without any discomfort.
The cleats don't touch the floor when attached so walking around doesn't cause cleat wear which is great too.
Bought with Shimano M540
they fit great and are very comfortable make sure you get them set up properly and you should have no problem enjoy xxx
that should improove the water proffing considerably compared to the pvc sticker in the box..
The best thing about these shoes is that you can walk on them without the clips being in the way (Shimano clips).
The ratchet mechanism keeps them tight to your foot, so allows pulling without any slippage.
For road use, they're pretty decent and pretty cheap in comparison to others.
One thing, known about, is that they do let in water, but if you mind wet socks, get covers (or stick a plastic bag under the inner sole - that works).
Black might not be best colour , shows road grime very quickly.
These look great, are comfortable, okay for walking / scrambling in mud and easy to locate and use the SPD pedals. They already smell but that's because I've used them loads and don't wash them properly... I really like the ratchet fastening; it makes getting the shoes on (tight) and off easy and fast.
I've only had them a couple of months and only time will tell if they and the ratchet fastening last, but I've had Shimano SPD shoes before and they've always been durable.
