I've just finished reading Sheet Music for the 2nd time, the first being in Jan 2013, thinking I was prepared for what lay ahead I soon realised I was not..!! I had to put it down a couple of times because it was so intense and emotional just the shear volume of Michael and Annie's story was just unbelievably riveting, honestly I feel as if I need a weeks bed rest heaven knows how Anne Lister felt after writing it.?
Everything about Sheet Music was was brilliant, packed full of every emotion going it has you feeling nervous and on edge and also wanting you to scream at Annie for being so stubborn at times, Michael loved her so much, after everything they went through, thank god they got there in the end..!!
I love Anne Lister, All the Right Reasons and The Rock God series are Fantastic..!!

heet Music (love the name), is an angsty rock star romance. It is long, so be prepared when you start.

Michael is a 38 year old career rock star who I feel in love with from the start. Does he screw up a few times, sure. But he was so much more than what Annie gave him credit most of the time. His heart was huge and he did so much for her. Annie really puts him through the wringer on more than one occasion and sometimes I just wanted to shake her.

Annie...I started out liking her but she couldn't get out of her own way most of the time. Her insecurities were seemingly limitless. She had some valid reasons for her distrustful nature but she projected so much of that onto other people, mostly Michael, that it really was unfair. As I have stated in other reviews, I don't have to like all the characters to like the book.

As the old saying goes "the girls always love the boys in the band." The temptation is always there and it has to be the persons choice to not take the apple. You have to trust them to make that choice.

There were secondary characters that I wished Lister had expanded. There were a few of the situations outside of the main story that I thought deserved more page time, especially with the length of the book.

There is an HEA, but I was hoping for something a little more at the end. It was sweet but I wanted powerful.

Overall an enjoyable read. I was gifted a copy for an honest review.

What a roller coaster of a story. I have to say that Annie' character was very frustrating at times, her level of naivety had me screaming with frustration. At every turn she cut and ran, the fact that Michael continued to pursue her left me at times wondering why. Still I liked the story and also the ending, however an epilogue would have provided a better conclusion.

I really love stories with the famous rock star theme. So when I managed to borrow a copy of this book from a friend I was really excited to to start reading. This is quite a long story, and begins when Annie Logan manages to get her band "White Rush" accepted into the battle of the bands contest. Annie had sent a demo tape without telling the other members of the group. Thinking that this would come to nothing. Annie is sure they are all are going to be as pleased and excited as her, well except for Gary her ex-husband. There were still underlying tensions between them. But they usually managed to get past this for the sake of the others in the group. What was most exciting about this opportunity is that the members of the famous group "Thrust" we're going to individually tutor each of the unknown groups, and Michael Wade the most famous member of Thrust was going to mentor her group. As Annie predicted all of the others except Gary were thrilled.

When Michael Wade first meets them all, Annie can hardly take her eyes off of him, let alone breathe, and to her amazement Michael seems to feel the same way. Every time he glances her way she feels as though she's melting. But the rules of this contest forbid any personal involvement between group members and their mentor. But will those rules be enough to keep Annie and Michael apart.

This is not your typical love story, there is passion and love between the two leads. But there is also anger treachery and much sadness. Reading about Annie and Michael's relationship through the good times and bad, let's make that very bad. Is a very emotional experience. Michael has been in rehab more than once, has been making music for many years, his reputation precedes him. But when he meets Annie he feels as though he has found home.

What a roller coaster of a story line.
Almost couldn't bear to read it!
With all the underlying tension between all the characters.
Michael wade the most famous member of the band "thrust" what a star.
Not your typical love story. But plenty of twist and turns throughout.
Certainly was a page turner...addictive reading for me.

Lol,I think I need a paracetamol! If Annie's and michaels ups and downs are even a small glimpse of what life is like for rock stars then I'm glad I don't have one.the tears the screaming the break-ups the get back togethers all of it exhausting.this is not my favourite by ann lister the 'fall for me' is my favourite along with jayson and Cooperstown story.
