Product description

Review

"Doering's wordsmithing is the absolute gold standard and leads readers to a stunner of an ending."
-New York Journal of Books

"This book should come with a warning: Contents are much darker and more shocking than they first appear. Every curve, every twist takes you further down the rabbit hole. Sharon Doering has written a crackling debut that should be on your 2020 list!" -- Samantha Downing, Sunday Times bestselling author of My Lovely Wife and He Started It

"She Lies Close is an emotionally charged domestic thriller, packed with chills, and an unexpected ending that readers won't see coming. Sharon Doering's fast-paced, tension-filled debut makes her a writer to watch" --Joanna Schaffhausen, author of The Vanishing Season

"She Lies Close is a psychological thriller unlike any you've read before. A perfect mixture of chilling suspense and twisting family secrets... an astonishing debut." --Jamie Freveletti, bestselling and award-winning author of the Emma Caldridge series, Robert Ludlum's The Janus Reprisal and The Geneva Strategy

"A suspenseful and emotionally charged debut. She Lies Close is the perfect blend of dark writing, gripping characters and gasping twists that will keep you reading late into the night. Sharon Doering has knocked it out of the park." --Sherri Smith, author of Follow Me Down

"It ll keep you awake!" --Peterborough Telegraph

"Doering s debut is a refreshing addition to [the] genre ...I look forward to her future releases" --Chick Lit Central

"A dark, emotionally charged story that explores mental health, motherhood and dangerous obsession." --Culturefly

"A very interesting [book] and doesn't leave too much hanging at the end. There are several crimes in the book, and by the end we know what really happened in each case, which is satisfying." --The Book Bag

"Intense, emotional, and chilling, this twisting story will grip you, and make you question your opinions about the characters again and again." --The Crime Review

A suspenseful and emotionally charged debut. She Lies Close is the perfect blend of dark writing, gripping characters and gasping twists that will keep you reading late into the night. Sharon Doering has knocked it out of the park.

--Sherri Smith, author of Follow Me Down

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible!
By Emily on 10 September 2020
This book is one of those that throws you off course constantly and absolutely wows you no end when you finish. I’m a little lost for words right now! I’ve had this on my TBR list for way too long and I got a deep sense of satisfaction when I read that last page. This book is such an immense debut from Sharon Doering and if you love a book which messes with your head a little and makes you question everything, this is the one for you.

Obsession, motherhood and an intense desire to protect is explored so deeply in this book and reading it was beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. My views on the main character were so back and forth and how she lives each day was concerning, yet fascinating. This is so much more than the story of a missing girl and when you read it, you’ll understand why. It’s so deep, powerful and detailed, and it’s the ultimate binge-worthy book.
