I really felt for Tamara; she’s trying to prove herself for how she is not who her parents are. She wants to stand on her own two feet and be a modern independent woman, not the woman her parents expect her to be. It’s not easy proving yourself.
Now Esther is someone I really didn’t take to when she first came along. She’s a girl with secrets and a hidden agenda and the more I read, the more I found out. Mel Sherratt has a way of drip feeding tit bits of information but not the full story. Plenty to make me keep turning the pages at a rapid pace!!
As with her other novels, Ms Sherratt has cast an element of darkness in her writing and for a psychological thriller this is a must! I would love to see more psychological thrillers from the keyboard of Ms Sherratt!!
Huge thanks to Mel Sherratt for my advanced copy of She Did It!
First of all I have to say that I love the cover and the title it has buy me written all over it.
She Did It tells a story about Tamara who is a successful business woman and Esther who lands herself a job working for her but they are both very different people. Which we learn has the story unfolds both of them having secrets.
I love the fact that the story is set in the publishing world talking about bloggers and book publishing which of course I can totally relate to. People that don't know how it works will certainly get an understanding when they read this. Mel sherratt certainly knows her stuff and I should think so to after selling a million books! Massive congratulations from me Mel.
Grabbing my attention right from the start Mel has produced another brilliant unputdownable story which takes the reader on one hell of a gripping ride keeping me guessing until the very end. Which I highly recommend giving it 4 stars.
Tamara runs her own publishing company single handedly from her apartment. Although she comes from a wealthy background and socialises with the right people, she is lonely, until Esther begins working for her temporarily to help out with a pitch marketing a new book.
Esther arrives with fake references and a lifetime of secrets and lies. Sensing Tamara's loneliness, she works hard to befriend her as part of her plan to get revenge on the man who destroyed her life.
As their friendship grows, both women have skeletons in their cupboards trying to rear their heads, and with one of them finding it hard to keep their past buried and temper in check, it looks like time may be running out.
Once again, Mel has blown me away with the twists and ability to keep me in suspense. In my humble opinion, this is an absolute winner, and will definitely fly off the chart
Really believable characters that you got to know and even felt a little sympathy for at times.
Well I have finished the book now and will have to wait for the next one, I can not recommend this one highly enough if you have not read Mel Sherratt before you really should start with this one.
As always a well constructed and honest book by a solid Author who knows her stuff
Well this book caught us unawares. Not set in the Potteries for once but much further south Mel Sharratt has given us a highly complex character to follow through. Esther is both brilliant yet devious; has it all but has nothing, very controlled yet out of control. Do you love her or hate her? Esther comes with questions and leaves you with as many. But the book is very much written about her own agenda and moves swiftly along with unexpected turns each linked to her past.
One has to feel some sadness for the other characters who play such important roles in Esther's life. But are they really victims? Again this question hangs in the balance. It is not wise to show 'friendship' to this person as she is a total sociopath or should that be psychopath...or just a bit out of her depth with life in general.
Mel once again shows what a versatile story teller she is. Very difficult to say to which genre of writers she belongs, as she constantly crosses over from one to another. Each she shows her complete mastery over. In her capable hands, we know we are in for a treat and “She Did It” ticks all the boxes. A brilliant addition to my ever-growing collection of her work. Mel is a hard-working author pushing the boundaries and winning each time more readers. With over a million books sold this one will be a great start to her second million books.
