This is the 4th in the New Atlantis series. This time it's the story of Maggie, the resident artist of the community. She is asked to go back to 2012 Bradford England because a cyber-world has appeared on the internet that is a perfect replica of New Atlantis and the government thinks there has been a leak. But the leak is Maggie herself because she has been psychically connected to Travis, the world builder, since he was a little boy. So while she has experienced his terrible life, which includes 14 years in prison for murder, he has been experiencing hers- especially New Atlantis. But neither of them realise the other was real until they meet.

I liked Maggie when she turned up in the other books so I was looking forward to her story. I thought there was a lot of suspense in this one, as you didn't know how Travis was going to get to New Atlantis because he really didn't fit the criteria, and yet he `disappeared' from 2012. Did he get terminated by Luke for leaking the existence of New Atlantis or is he Retrieved?

I like the very realistic side stories, like the tension between Jac and Cara because Jac has approved Travis' assassination if it proved necessary. So there isn't a happy ever after with these couples, and life gets in the way at times, just as in the real world. But everything resolves itself nicely by the end. I probably didn't enjoy this as much as Savage, but it's is still a great read.

Great story, loved the setting! I read this after `Nine Lives' because the area was very familiar to me. I really liked finding things I'd done turning up in the book eg Hubble 3D at the Imax in Bradford. This was also an interesting story with well developed characters. I liked the explanation for how time travel worked. It was well explained without going over the average person's head, and not distracting from the story.

Yet another winner in this wonderful series. The concept of soulmates or twin souls isn't new, but I don't think I've ever read a book that portrayed it so well. Ms Glover's style is so easy to read and hard to put down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another winning story 4 Aug. 2013
By tuesday63 - Published on Amazon.com

Each of these stories in the New Atlantis series is slightly different to another, so it's worth taking the time to read each book. The blurb about Shared Soul sounded intriguing and the story didn't disappoint me. There was more focus on the relationships and friction between some of the New Atlanteans; people thrown together 'on the job' and trying to make the best of each other's company as stress levels increased. I find Nhys' way of portraying the characters in her books to be quite realistic and so their interactions between one another was quite believable and highly entertaining.

The past, future and present are all tangled together in this storyline, as you could only expect from two people who share the same soul. We follow Maggie, who has always been a solitary character in the previous stories, as she faces her past and discovers her future has always been with her and that in the end she was never truly alone. And that her future can be filled with the love that only comes from a love so deep it spans, not only the world, but also time.

This was a good read and I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Time Travel 18 Oct. 2016

I love time travel and this book is no exception. It's a different type of time travel and the fourth in the New Atlantis Time Travel series. Nhys Glover writes well and creates good characters with good locations. If you enjoy time travel you will enjoy this book.
