Review

Claude Poncelet s impressive account of his own deeply rich shamanic life is an inspiration for anyone practicing shamanism today. Tom Cowan, author of "Shamanism as a Spiritual Practice for Daily Life"

"As a physicist who has taught at the university level, Poncelet incorporates his knowledge of cosmology, nuclear physics, and astrophysics into his explanations of shamanic principles. Among other things, he ties Einstein's theories of relativity to ancient spiritual beliefs about the malleability of time, Heisenberg's uncertainty principle to the traditional mystical concept of the Void, and the discoveries of quantum physics to the principles of nonduality and interconnectedness." "Spirituality and Health" "Claude Poncelet's impressive account of his own deeply rich shamanic life is an inspiration for anyone practicing shamanism today." Tom Cowan, author of"Shamanism as a Spiritual Practice for Daily Life""

"A wealth of information. Through his visionary teachings, Poncelet provides new insights into shamanic practice and invites you to deepen your own practice of shamanism with easy-to-understand instructions. A wonderful book." Sandra Ingerman, MA, author of "Soul Retrieval" and "Shamanic Journeying" Claude Poncelet gives a much higher meaning to the modern term shamanism by encouraging readers to seek and find their own spiritual roots. And his work is generous: he writes with a deeply compassionate voice, helping those who are hungry of spirit. As a good Elder, he offers readers wisdom to develop a life that is spiritually sourced. Arkan Lushwala, author of "The Time of the Black Jaguar" "The Shaman Within" affirms how we each possess the natural ability to experience our interconnected wholeness with all of nature, even as we engage in our everyday lives and the technological activities of this modern world, which too often keep us feeling separate and isolated behind the screens of our computers and smartphones. Poncelet shows us the way. Richard Miller, PhD, author of"Yoga Nidra" " "With a physicist s clarity and a shaman s awareness, Dr. Poncelet makes accessible the sacred interconnectedness of all life and the exploration of reality s deeper dimensions. Whether one is an experienced spiritual traveler or a pragmatic cognitive learner, this book will awaken within you higher levels of insights. Rev. Deborah L. Johnson, author of"The Sacred Yes"and"Your Deepest Intent" A doorway into the magic of shamanism, a spiritual practice that offers the practitioner an adventurous and powerful inner life. An inspiring book! Gay Luce"

There have been many books written about Shamanic World traditions over the years but few have extended its core philosophy quite so far as Claude Poncelet in The Shaman Within.

The book is a carefully considered balance between what many consider to be the oldest spiritual tradition known to mankind and new explorations into the cutting edge of science, physics and astronomy.

It is a delightfully written book that flows and draws its reader into a fascinating glimpse of a twilight world based around the authors vast experience as a physicist and practising Shaman. It contains personal anecdotal references as well as practical exercises on how to engage with the Metaverse on a more meaningful and personal level.

The author argues most convincingly that Shamanism rather than being an archaic form of metaphysics may well hold the key to restoring the nature balance to our personal as well as professional lives her on this planet.

This is a book that I would recommend to any one looking for something a little different from our more traditional and established world view. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to reading more in the future by its author and his ideas for 21st century Shamanism.

HASH(0x9512d1a4) out of 5 stars Excellent book 27 Jun. 2014

This is an excellent book for both beginners and more experienced practitioners of shamanic work. There are a number of journey ideas that aren't in any other books such as shapeshifting, cosmic journeys, a section of ethics and the shamanic ego. It is a valuable resource to work with.

HASH(0x94f60894) out of 5 stars A seminal reference not to be missed 3 July 2014
By Marc Le Menestrel - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book is likely to become a seminal reference for the development of shamanic practices in the spirit of Michael Harner's 1980 landmark The Way of the Shaman. It contains a very comprehensive discussion of the main concepts and practices initially taught by the Foundation of Shamanic Studies and further developed and practiced in Claude's unique way.
It is remarkable how his physicist perspective sheds light on the frontier between our rational account of the ordinary reality and our experience of the non-ordinary one. The result is a clear, coherent and inspiring guide that enriches the reader's spiritual and intellectual life. Thanks to the connection with his wife Noëlle Poncelet, the link with psychotherapeutic techniques is discussed in many occasions, which makes the book an important read for psychotherapists willing to reflect on the spiritual dimension of their practice.
Finally, the very personal and candid account of Claude's own shamanic journeys is a gift that provides a rare glimpse into the personal experiences of spiritual masters.

HASH(0x94f60ae0) out of 5 stars Integrity, Impeccability, and Interconnectedness 10 Aug. 2014
By Te Mangaroa - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I had the pleasure of meeting Claude and Noelle once 5 years ago and was struck deeply by the integrity with which they approach their work. At the time, Claude spoke of writing book. I have been delighted to read this book and to see the depths to which he takes the subject. To me, the strength of the book lay in Claude's capacity to articulate some of his experiences, particularly those where he was able to feel what it was like to be inside an animal or a rock. There are so few people who have worked so hard to hone their skills to be able to make these kinds of journeys that it felt a great gift to hear of his experiences.

His message is again and again about the interconnectedness of being and of the necessity of being impeccable in one's actions (to the best of one's abilities). I found both of those concepts to be powerful in that they are immediately and always applicable for all of us. His examples of ways in which he has moved through the different worlds and have worked for the greater good are particularly poignant (I especially liked the section on the NSA and the ways in which he was able to work from within industry to do good work).

Claude's integrity and commitment to his work shines through this book on every page. It is not only an inspiring book in terms of the capacity one might have to be able to become as skilled as a shaman as he has become, but simply in being a committed person who recognizes the way in which we are all interconnected and treats that with a combination of wonder and profound respect which is simply inspiring, too.

HASH(0x951337b0) out of 5 stars Great Reminders! 1 July 2014
By magikone - Published on Amazon.com

This book is a great reminder of past studies I have personally had with Claude over a duration of 6 or more years. This book is also a very good book for fellow shamanic practitioners who are looking for new ways to receive direction from spirit world, as well as possible internal changes. Some of these techniques have become parts of my daily practice through previous teachings from Claude. I of course highly recommend a read.

HASH(0x94f60b34) out of 5 stars It's a wonderful book. 29 Aug. 2014

Claude Poncelet offers enormous insight into this world we live in. His simple understanding of how divinity is alive in every atom give us all the ability to contact Source Energy both within ourselves and within every living thing in nature. He goes even further by suggesting that even inanimate objects such as man-made objects - anything manufactured - consists of atoms and can thereby thought of as 'alive'. I have heard of people interacting with their cars in interesting ways, and Claude's explanation helps me make sense of this. He writes well, he offers methods of shape-shifting, and of interacting with one's inner world. The book is full of exercises and visualisations which I have found extremely helpful. It's a wonderful book.
