I read the first book of this trilogy "The Ice Star", and enjoyed it, partly because of the action, but mostly because it described an environmment and way of life unknown to me. I looked forward to the second one " In The Shadow of The Mountain", but was sorely disappointed as the plot was unbelievable, and the action in it incredible. I am sorry that I cannot recommend this follow up as the first one was good.

Having read The Ice Star, I couldn't wait to read the second book in this adrenalin-filled trilogy. Fenna is a strong character, in more ways than one. The writing is so visual, that I can feel the chill of the Arctic and sense the terror of the chase. Looking forward to seeing what happens in the final part of the trilogy - The Shaman's House - I can't wait!

Very exciting romp reminiscent of the TV program "Person of Interest". I like the setting. I read the first book and I will read the third in the series.

This is the second book in the trilogy. This author has description of his environment down to an art. I like the way he can set up a location. While I liked the book overall, it felt disjointed in the plot and the end leaves the reader wondering what’s next. I guess I will be reading the third book.
Excellent book. Great character development

Fenna is a surprising woman of many parts.the character of Maratse is well drawn and is quite amusing. The heroes turn out to be villains and the bad guys rise to heroic heights. Definitely recommend
