Action packed, full of suspense, and utterly moving!!

Perhaps the most thematically cohesive of all of Janelle Garrett's work, this final installment in the trilogy packs a punch. With impeccable pacing, the story takes all the loose threads from the previous two books and weaves them together into a stirring, multi-faceted conclusion. This book is full of difficult choices, loss, and heartbreak, but it is also full of hope. The siege on Parr and the ensuing battles and battle tactics were realistically and unflinchingly portrayed. I loved watching Lacey branch out on her own, even when her choices were painful. But my favorite scene by far was with Jakob in the throne room after the Devinian forces break through the wall. It was such an exquisitely crafted scene of compassion and hope amidst death and terror that it almost moved me to tears (which is saying a great deal). To me that scene is the heart of this book and I will never forget that scene as long as I live. This book is full of heart and depth and I loved it! A very fitting end to a thought-provoking, gritty Christian fantasy trilogy.

Loved the conclusion of the The Rodasia Chronicles. It still held my attention right to the end. Action, suspense, romance, unrequited love. I love the whole shadowing/nod to the Biblical story running through out the story from the get go.
