It often refers to the variety of types of sexual experiences and encounters which is good.
Although it claims to avoid judgement and defining what is normal or best, I feel that there is an overall tone that says that long term relationships with a single partner are the goal. Maybe these long term relationships is where many problems arise and so practicing psychologists focus on this.
But for many people being single and having short term sexual experiences is preferable. Helen Croydons book, 'screw the fairy tale' deals with this option better than this book.
Single people are more likely to make use of short term sexual services such as prostitution. It is telling that this book has only 3 pages on this topic and the example given is of a couple (long term relationship again) who jointly visit a gentlemens club.
The book says 'paying for sex with a prostitute (or gold digger) is not for everyone and many people are critical of the sex industry for good reasons'. But it does not explore this topic further. Mixing up gold-diggers and prostitution shows lack of experience surely.
No mention of non-UK scenes such as germany's FKK clubs or asia's thriving bar girl scene, sex tourism and mia nois. No discussion of the restrictive nordic model in which paying for sex is made illegal, now inplace in Northern Ireland, France and scandinavia. No discussion of the change in power relationships when sex can be purchased easily and is socially acceptable.
Little discussion of why older men seek younger girls. Instead trying to keep faltering long term monogamous relationships alive is described in detail.
The book is keen to promote coupledom and long term relationships. An alternative of short term sexual excitement with a large variety of sexually desirable younger partners gets little attention really.
A book worth reading, and then comparing it to your own sexual history and see what it misses out.
PS - no mention of TRT for men. Viagra use slighted or thought unnecessary. Odd when so many use it.

She is a clever, highly qualified expert in an area that some people might choose 'not to go' - they are the ones who miss out on a lot of great wisdom.
There has been much damage done to individuals, and ultimately 'couples' by various Religious attitudes to this topic "SEX": Pamela has done an excellent job to de- mystify and de-guilt what happens in private. Very well Done.
