I really got a lot out of reading this book. I learned things I never would have known. However, parts of it reminded me of a sex education textbook.

I have studied sex more than most but it only took the first few pages in Chapter 1 for me to learn something new. Very easy to read and great reference.

First, let me say I love the For Dummies series. But this book is no good - if you are looking for a book on improving your sex life like I was. It reads like a sex ed book and there isn't much information to help you spice up your sex life. (Granted, if you are a virgin this may provide some info.) This volume isn't even as humorous as many other "for dummies" books. Books like "The Joy of Sex" and those by Anne Hooper are much better.
So, find a copy of this book in the library, otherwise skip it.

406 pages. This book can help you make sex -- whether it's a one-night stand or a long-term commitment -- more rewarding for the both (or more) of you! Written by Dr. Ruth, this is a verrry practical, up-to-date, easy-to-read overview with answers to the questions and viewpoints we all have. My girl friends and I spend lots of time talking about boys, sex, being bi or just experimenting, and stuff. This book is like way kewl, and you're pretty smart if you buy it! So, like fill yourself in, and then you can have that talk with your parents and answer their questions!! heheh. Very highly recommended.
Guys -- intercourse is not all there is to sex. So, if you want to learn what she already knows about making herself (or other girls) happy, this book will help you discover the difference between your ideas of sex and hers. Do you ever really wonder why a girl would be very bi? Do you want deeper, more intense, passionate, rewarding, mind-blowing sex (and a chance at a second date!)? Do you want to perform better (than a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10)? It's time to open your eyes, and stop just trying to score.
It's pretty easy to take advantage of a girl, to toy with her emotions, to play with her feelings, to use her, to two-time her, and to violate her. You've probably never felt like less than an object, or needed to fight someone off, or curled up and cried because you really thought it was going to be different this time.
Let's face the obvious. What you want and what she wants are two totally different things. Ultimately, if you want to know what makes her happy, she can educate you. This book will help bring you closer to that point. I give Sex for Dummies a "Yes. YES. YESSSSS!!!".
