Great introduction which lays some very sensible ground rules (e.g. always know where your needle is), the equipment required (kept simple & to a minimum) and all the techniques needed for the projects.
The projects themselves are relatively simple and all the photos show the finished article which have been made by cildren (warts and all!) I think it is this that sets it apart from many other "children's" sewing books as most show perfect results which simply cannot be expected while children are learning & probably puts them off trying.
The projects don't take a long time so can be completed in one sitting (very satisfying for a child).
Lovey book for home or as a teaching resource. Will give great basics and confidence.
She can sometimes get discouraged when things don't look exactly right. The realistic pictures in this book are really helping to build her confidence with hand sewing as her finished items look like the ones shown. She's already planning her next project and we're starting to build up a sewing kit of her own (so she can stop stealing mine!)
