I am not sure how many of these Science Fiction Megapacks I have reviewed now. What I am sure of, is that none of them have been a disappointment. Must go now, as I see that Megapack 8 is now available and I can't wait to get started.

Another in the very successful Megapack series, a bumper issue for a notional price. As before, the editors provide a varied selection, with dashes of humour, from the final tale that ends with another dreadful Grendel Briarton pun; Richard Wilson's entertaining romp featuring an oddball university, intelligent kangaroos and levitation; and an answer of sorts to the classic time travel paradox yet one that creats yet another paradox, in Lerner's 'Grandpa?'. I was impressed by the sheer story-telling prowess of Jerry Sohl in his tale 'Time Dissolver', about an amnesiac trying to reconstruct his past - a real page-tuner - and the poetic intensity of Poul Anderson's two contributions, the last an elegy to an Earth being evacuated of its last human beings before being handed over to aliens. The value of the collection is enhanced further by the inclusion of a book-length Silverberg story based on the effect of the Fitzgerald Contraction on family relationships. Highly recommended

Thank you to the editors of the "Seventh". An excellent collection of stories which had my attention from start to finish. I had to force myself to put the book down on occasions. Highly recommended.

Very enjoyable stories, well worth the read and the money. Just for the SiFi or thriller lover and there is plenty to keep you occupied with the long list of stories

The quality of the stories is very variable. A couple I didn't bother to finish, a couple were very good indeed, and this might just the the mix of genres. Another reader might like the lot!

A good collection of short stories. The spread of different eras and authors of sf make for interesting comparisons. Good for newcomers to discover the classic authors.
