Organic Raw Cacao Nibs. Cacao, or Cocoa, is an evergreen tree, which grows naturally in tropical climates around the world. Its fruit, the cacao bean, is well-known as the basic ingredient in chocolate and has for centuries been forefront in native diets. In recent times it has attracted attention because of its nutritional content.
Sevenhills Wholefoods source their beans from South America, and only those of a premium variety. Its seed pods are harvested by hand. They are broken apart and left until the soft flesh surrounding the bean has fermented and run off as liquid. The fermentation process affects the taste of the beans, which lose some bitter flavours. The beans are washed, cleaned, dried, then peeled and broken into small pieces (nibs). Sevenhills Wholefoods' cacao nibs are raw - processed at temperatures that never exceed 45°C, this helps retain nutrients which are often lost in products subject to higher temperatures during production.
Recommended use: cacao nibs are a versatile food that can be mixed in to many dishes, or alternatively eaten as a snack.

Sevenhills Wholefoods Supports Charity Projects Around the World
Kids Club Kampala, Uganda
UK charity working to improve the future prospects of children in the slum communities of Kampala, Uganda. Sevenhills Wholefoods worked with Kids Club Kampala to provide informal education classes to extremely poor children who would otherwise have no access to schooling, and supported the charity's third project in the Namuwongo slum providing 100 3-11 year olds with basic education. Children receive a hot meal and the centre remains open after school as a safe location, away from the danger and temptations of drug use, to do homework, ask questions, get help and receive food.
The Lunchbowl Network, Kenya
The charity initially operated one kindergarten school in Kibera, the biggest slum in Kenya, which provided for 55 children. Sevenhills Wholefoods helped the charity launch their second larger site accommodating up to 150 children. The Lunchbowl Network was able to provide the opportunity to learn and play in a clean, safe, stimulating, caring and respectful environment. Parents and carers readily recognised their children were becoming healthier and happier, less withdrawn, talking more english, and had improved reading and writing ability--evidence their lives were beginning to be transformed at an early age.
Network for Africa, Uganda
The charity works with communities in the aftermath of conflict and genocide, helping the forgotten survivors after disaster relief moves on. Sevenhills Wholefoods assisted the charity to extend their work into the war-torn Agogo District, Uganda, where people lived in overcrowded camps. People were encouraged to test for HIV, start treatment, and supported through better access to services, counselling and medication. Pregnant or breastfeeding women received advice and support needed to prevent mother-to-child transmission. Work was done in the local community to reduce the stigma surrounding the disease.
Over 50 superfoods sourced from all over the world. 100% pure, natural and offering a range of health benefits.
