I first saw this film on TV a few years after it came out, and i kind of fell in love with Jennifer Connolly at the time. It wasnt just her though, it was this beautiful little movie, about teenage life / friendships / heartbreak, that was so innocent and special, that it stayed with me over the years.
To see it come out on DVD now just brought back all those memories. Some films when you look back on them years later dont always live up to what you remembered about what made them so great in the first place. Watching this film again for the first time in over 20 years, i was captivated straight away. It truly was as amazing as i remembered it. The characters, the music, the whole movie. Definitely the best teen movie ever made. For those of who have never seen it, definitely buy it, you wont regret it. This film will be in my collection for a long time to come.

At last one of my fav movies out on dvd! This is a Warner archives official DVD-R release so is region free.
This is a really sweet 80s movie which stars Jennifer connelly, the storyline is simple & everything about this film is loveable! Much better then alot of hyped movies of the day,i highly recommend this for anyone with a love of the 80s or Jennifer connelly- easily one of her best! Great music too- well a really catchy song that plays throughout in different variations which you will find yourself singing long after the film has ended :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Best 'Teen Drama' Ever? 14 Aug. 2005
By Stephen B. O'Blenis - Published on Amazon.com
Proving that dramatic fare centering on teenage characters needn't be any less powerful than any other drama, the biggest strregth of "Seven Minutes In Heaven" (apart from the mere prescence of star Jennifer Connelly) is the realization that the loves, ambitions, anxieties, dreams, feelings and disappointments of teenagers are no less real and no less important than those of a person a few years older or a few years younger. That's one of those things that so many people who previously would have agreed with fervently seem to forget on their twentieth birthday. This movie is about all of those things - dreams, loves, anxieties, etc. - in the lives of three friends, Natalie (Connelly), Jeff (Byron Thames) and Polly (Maddie Corman). I usually don't enjoy 'slice-of-life' dramas half as much as this one but "Seven Minutes In Heaven" is so good it would have been a keeper even without Jennifer Connelly in it, who's the reason I originally saw it. Funny in places and downright heartbreaking in places, with massive charm, this movie is a credit to its kind.

And yet it's not out on DVD - I guess I'll just have to add it to my list of dream DVD releases ("Dreamtrap", "Elves", "Basket Case 2", "Scamper The Penguin", "Twogether", "Mannequin II", "Cutting Class" etc. - I could go on and on) that surely someday somebody will Have to bring out on DVD.

Won't they?

At least until then, the VHS of this gem can still be tracked down. Highly, highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my all time favorites 4 Feb. 2000
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
I loved this movie when I was younger, 12, 13, whatever. It used to come on HBO or Showtime almost every afternoon, and I would watch it everytime. It was something about the story that was quite appealing to me, plus I think back then I thought the Main male character was cute. I would definitely add this movie to the list of best 80's teen movies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stacey's Review 21 May 2000
By Stacey - Published on Amazon.com
Hi- I am a 15 year old that was home sick one day when I saw this movie on HBO. Honestly, I was moved. I thought this movie moved people's minds from most sterotypes about kids my age, and I thought it was much better than any teen movies they are making today. I am very dissapointed to find that they are not selling this video anymore. I hope the re-distribute it soon, because they have one definite customer already!

5.0 out of 5 stars John Hughes eat your heart out! A heart-warming gem! 28 Jun. 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Finally a high-school coming-of-age movie with real-life teenagers! This heart-warming funny and clever tale follows three 15-16 year-olds in their rocky road through sophomore year. A young Jennifer Connolley shows her stuff, and Maddie Corman gives a show-stealing performance! A must-see for any teen-angst "Dawson's Creek" fans!

1.0 out of 5 stars Great movie - junk disk 20 July 2010
By Steven D. Hult - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
This is a great movie which I will buy when it comes out on a real DVD. Apparently this method of releasing older hard-to-find movies is becoming popular among studios trying to make a quick buck without investing any money - producing an inferior product at a premium price. DVD-Rs do not play on all DVD players and can cause playback problems. Many DVD-R disks also do not age well - some lose thier ability to play back after a year or two. Another great movie only available on DVD-R is Angus - a great coming-of-age movie with George Scott - come on guys - release it for real!!
