Paige meets Vance Ellery, or TDS (Tall, Dark and Smouldering as she calls him) and immediately falls for him. He is an older man who is used to getting what he wants. He doesn't like being told no, but Paige is the kind of woman who will not let him walk all over her.
Shortly after this she meets another man, a younger man this time, and instantly takes to him also. He is the safer man for her, the one who will be her forever man I feel.
However she soon finds out that these men are known to each other, making for a very interesting turn of events. She has to choose between them, and that is a very difficult choice as we find out.
The author throws in a few hints early on that Paige has something in her past which is still causing her problems. When she finally tells all, or what we believe is all, she receives the reaction she wants, he doesn't run away. But which one is it she tells? And is it really him she wants?
Paige is a very confused young woman all through the story. She has managed to get her life sorted after the event which changed her, yet now she is beginning to suffer again due to having these 2 men wanting her.
It is only near the end of the story we find out the whole truth about what happened to Paige a year before, and there's a sense of history repeating itself in some ways. All is not as it first seemed, but these revelations bring about a huge decision in her life. She finally makes her mind up about who it is she wants.Read more ›
I know that by the description above you may think you have a hold of the plot (falling for the brother's best friend thing) but... Nope. You're wrong.
During a game of Rugby, she literally falls at the feet of Vance Ellery or TDS as she prefers to call him. That's when things begin to get interesting...
Vance is older and used to get his way except, Paige isn't the kind of girl to roll over. The plot thickens when she meets another drool worthy man. He's younger and more suited but she feels torn between the two. Who would she choose? Talk, Dark and Smoldering or Matt, the guy her parents would approve of...
What a ride!
The synopsis to this book appealed to me the moment I read it. I must confess and say that when I began to read the book, to me it felt like an okay read but-- and there's a BIG but -- the farther I got into the story the more submerged into it I got, and I have to say that i absolutely loved it. Beyond the shadow of a doubt that,s for sure.
The characters were well developed and the main characters completely pulled me into the story effortlessly. In the book Paige is dealing with something that happened the year before and every time that subject was highlighted in a conversation it got me wondering what that something was, which completely captured my interest and kept me turning the pages.
I loved Paige's spunk and fully admire her strength through out the book. The chemistry between her and TDS was fantastic! I couldn't help but squeal every time those two got together. I must warn you though. There's a love triangle going on and I'm aware that it may not appeal to some but I recommend this little gem regardless. Give it a go, you won't regret it. I loved it!
