4.8 out of 5 stars 5 ratings

In March 2020 UK blogger May More invited six of her online colleagues to contribute a week of diary entries recording their experiences of the Coronavirus Lockdown restrictions. The result is a collection of startling, highly personal accounts of this historic event, seen from seven viewpoints. The book begins on April 1st and ends, at the height of the pandemic, with full restrictions still in place.

Seven bloggers record their ordinary lives, made extraordinary by the coronavirus lockdown

Seven bloggers record their ordinary lives, made extraordinary by the coronavirus lockdown
Wow! This was such an interesting collaborative idea, the voices of 7 bloggers recording their thoughts and feelings about the lockdown situation. Coronavirus arrives like a juggernaut which jacknifes across the path of everyone's lives at the end of March 2020. This book views Lockdown at its outset. Told from the viewpoint of 7 very different people well versed in recording their thoughts and actions, I found it quite refreshing. The diarist's normality juxtapositioned with the unusual pressures and restrictions, made for a stimulating read. The twist is that these guys don't usually keep such vanilla diaries!

I thought this was a really entertaining collection of snap shots from a group of not so ordinary people. Each contributor captures their hopes and fears over 7 days during the COVID-19 pandemic. A fairly quick read, however, there's enough escapism to keep you entertained during lock-down!

A very interesting read, seven different points of view and experiences of this unprecedented situation.

I laughed at the moments of normal life, of the humour and determination of these people to make the best of things.

In all a wonderful representation of how the lockdown has affected everyday people.
