I'm loving this series. Great mix of Indiana Jones and Spy movies!! Glori has run off from her slimy family and now runs a helicopter business which helps to fund her botany studies in Madagascar. Since "those" movies came out tourists have been flocking to the island. When she offers her services to the enigmatic Eric, she thinks she'll be making good money for a short trip. Yeah that's not happening!!

Eric is the sergeant for the Ambra Knights. It's his job to put the recruits through hell to prepare them for missions. Due to a lack of available agents he is out from HQ and trying to trace the Baghdad Battery. It's been held at the sanctuary of a self styled prophet. When the helicopter is sabotaged and they crash land, Glori and Eric are now partners in trying to get to the battery. Glori knows the country and Eric, well he's just badass in a hunky package!!!

One of the best lines was Glori saying to Eric "I need you to stop having a***ole tendencies. I understand it’ll be tough—”. Eric is unsure just what to do with Glori, she is a distraction and he does try to ditch her but keeps coming up with ways that he needs to hold onto her. This boy has fallen fast!!

Eric if fabulously alpha and stoic but he comes out of his protective shell. We also get so hear more about the Ambra HQ and their version of Miss Moneypenny sounds brilliant. I can't wait to meet Eric's sister. She sounds amazing!!

Keep em coming please Lyn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was OK. It was not one that I had to read it in one sitting, there again it was not one that I gave up reading after the first couple of chapters.

There is plenty of action, the shoot them up kind, not the action under covers, but there is also some of the latter as well.

After reading this book I was not filled with a dire need to get my hands on everything that Lyn Brittany had written. There again I was not totally put off her writing.

As I stated at the beginning, I found this book to be OK only, but please make up your mind about it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Eric manages to get on the good side of Glori 24 Jun. 2015
By Indiquinn - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book has been provided by the author with no expectations and that in no way influences my review. Eric Storm is your typical alpha male thinking he has all the answers and knows how to do everything. Then he meets Glori. Glori was raised in Texas, she knows more than her fair share on how to handle things. Besides she can fly just about anything including her helicopter. Eric manages to get on the good side of Glori, then the bad side, then the good side. You see where this is going. Glori ends up being much more helpful than Eric ever imagined and he grudgingly starts to understand that sometimes he does not know it all. Sergeant is the second book in the series. I have not read the first book, but I did not feel the lack. Sergeant reads quite well as a standalone. The story is great, kind of like Indiana Jones or National Treasure, lots of action. Characters are complex and have depth. The romance builds at a good pace. There is interest on both sides, but not forced or rushed. I would definitely recommend this book to friends to read. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! I so didn't see some of that coming!! 25 Jun. 2015

I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

I was wondering how Lyn was going to improve upon the wonderful twists & turns of book one...book two had some scenes that I would never have imagined taking place. However Lyn's wonderful storytelling skills have weaved some interesting twists into an impressive, hang onto your Kindle, attention gripping story!

In book 1 our Lady was not trained at all in how to defend herself...book 2 - yeah totally different Lady!
Glori is from Texas (so you know she knows how to kick butt) and she has LOTS of training thanks to her wonderful <cough> father and Uncle Keith. She is one tough cookie! Though she would have to be living on her own in Madagascar.
Enter our Sergeant...he starts out their relationship by lying to her about her "boss". HA! Yeah, she shows him who the Boss is!
Eric would be sooooooo LOST without her assistance on his mission.

If you like Romance books - you will like this one.
If you like Action books - you will like this one.
If you like Suspense books - you will like this one.
If you like all three...you will LOVE this book!!!
If you liked book 1 - you will like this one...A LOT!!!!!

I highly recommend that you download book 1 and this book (3 when it's available). While they are downloading, go set up your chair with a glass & a pitcher of your favorite drink plus grab some snacks because you will not want to get up until the book is done!

5.0 out of 5 stars eric 21 Jun. 2015

Glori knows how to give a compliment to her man, "she nuzzled his chest, fisting the hem of his shirt. “And scared and lonely. And when you’re not being an a**, you make those feelings go away. I need you to stop having a***ole tendencies. I understand it’ll be tough—” Eric is totally kicka**, "Eric fired. The man crumbled to the floor less than three feet away. Ignoring the blood that splattered on his face, Eric moved his gun a millimeter to the left. “Anyone else?” Jesus the boy is always horny when his woman is around, "he rubbed sleep from his eyes and grinned. “Miss me that much? I’ll make it up to you tonight.” I loved Eric, and I'm excited for the rest of the boys to get a story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable Action series 7 July 2015

4.5 Stars

This is book 2 of the Mercenaries of Fortune series.

This story is about Eric Storm a Sergeant of Ambra. He icon vacation when he is needed back in action. He is needed to retrieve the Baghdad Battery from Madagascar.
Glori is a local helicopter tour pilot. SHe loves Madagascar but has to do this gig to save money for her true passion: saving the Rainforest.

Little did each know they would need each other more then both wants to admit. As much as I enjoyed the first book (Knight of Ambra), I really liked this story. It kept my interest from the beginning. I loved all the back story of this book.
Along with the humor and extreme Alpha male tendencies oozing off Eric.

So if you love action (helicopter crashes, possible kidnapping, tracking devices on humans), humor, sweetness & sexiness (kinda of a swingers/sex club in the middle of the jungle) . Then you need to read this series. And did Eric get the Baghdad Battery…..You'll need to read the story. Be sure to grab The Duke of Ambra, book 3 of this series.

You can read book 2 without book and follow the storyline no problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Woohoo! Another winner from Lyn Brittan! Eric and Glori are a great team! 25 Jun. 2015

Eric is the Sergeant at Arms for The Mercenaries of Fortune, Ambra Group. He is a loner, a man used to being alone on his missions and that's just fine with him. Glori is Ms. Independent. She owns her own tourist ride helicopter business in Madagascar. As a botanist, she uses her profits to fund her research into the plants and trees of the beauty that is Madagascar. When they meet sparks fly. She agrees to take him into the forest as far as her helicopter and fuel will allow. When a crash happens it becomes a team effort to stay alive. Glori has her own gun and a native Texan, she knows how to use it. Eric is still on his mission, to retrieve the rare antiquity, The Baghdad Battery. Eric finds himself depending on Glori more and more, becoming more impressed with her by the second. In spite of the circumstances, love is made and both their worlds change. This book is a fun, suspenseful, crazy journey all the way to the HEA. I was given an ARC of this book for my HONEST review, which I have given.
