I can still hear traffic because they don't block my ear canals.
The sit on my head firmly without coming off or needing adjustment.
And it's possible to take hands free calls.
Now the bad points.
After a year of use, the power inlet corroded from moisture.
Although there is a protective seal over the power inlet, capillary action means that water still gets inside, so they are very hard to charge.
The next problem was the on button, being a rather fragile and clunky button on the right ear.
After a relatively short period of use, these headphones don't work at all.
If you are prepared to buy a pair of these headphones once a year, these are the best headphones, but I want a longer life out of my products. I've gone back to my old trusty Sennheiser PMX-80's. They still work after six years, although they're not as comfortable and don't sound as good.
The MM100's represent the development of a great running product, but I'd wait till the next generation of this product comes out, and they may have fixed some of these medium term reliability problems.
But these are just the job even though your ears get a bit hot if you are running hard, I tend to destroy electrical gadgets as I expect a lot. I did a 10 mile run and it started raining heavy they still worked fine. The battery life is good I use all day at work taking calls and listening to music and have not run out yet, I charge as soon as i get home for an hour before going out running and I still have never been caught out yet. With PX 210 BT I did buy the spare battery as these never last the the day. One thing I will say is another different charger with the PX210BT which use the micro connection used my most stuff at moment like blackberrys etc the MM100 has another connectinon (so another charger).
It works fine with sennheiser mp3 dongle and I was able to switch from phone to mp3 player quite easily, it has had difficult in switching off when holding down the button but i have just plugged back in charger and it has worked fine again.
At close to half the price of Jaybird freedoms these MM100s perform far better, and are very light and comfortable with a light, detailed, airy sound, somewhat similar to Koss porta pros. They sit well on the ears and there are no wires to catch on clothing to distract you when you are in the gym.
I'd give these five stars if they had a warmer deeper low range, but overall, they are excellent, and more than good enough for general listening and gym work. Your ears might get a bit hot on long runs but the benefit if these over sealed in ear buds is that the sound of your own breathing is normal and not exaggerated by a sealed off eardrum. Spot on.
Although poor noise cancellation is good for cycling you'll struggle to hear speech if watching a tv show / film on bus / train / even over other conversations in the room.
