We were teased plenty through Becca and Jaycent’s story so much so that we knew Ashlyn was still giving Ryder the run around but we needed more and we finally got it.!
You can’t help thinking back to where it all started... at a bar on the beach in Panama. It seemed so long ago, so much has happened but it wasn’t really that long ago at all.
Characters from both Ashlyn and Ryder’s past showing up certainly doesn’t help but somehow they get through all of that, it actually ends up bringing them together, it’s touch and go at times especially with all the drama and there is plenty of that.
I have to say there was a moment towards the end when I found myself holding my breath so much so I had to go back over a few lines... we we’re well and truly thrown... wasn’t sure what to think for a while.
Bradley and Vicki might still be out there but nothing will come between Ashlyn, Ryder, Becca and Jaycent now, not even the evil mother she well and truly out of the picture.
Beautiful epilogue by the way.!
The (Selfish) series has been fabulous it’s been totally addictive but that’s only to be expected from Shantel Tessier. I loved the cross reference with Seven Deadly Sins it makes you think back to that fabulous series too.!
Thank you and I look forward to what ever comes next.!
What can I say but WOW, Shantel has done it again! I absolutely LOVED this book!
I will never give spoilers out in a review, as I think the reader should make their own mind up without knowing what is going to happen, I will say though that there are a few twists and times where Shantel could have taken the story in a completely different direction and a couple of unexpected turns, but I can’t say it enough - LOVE, LOVE, LOVED it and you would be a fool not to buy it - a definite 5 star read
What a great series!
There's no shortage of drama I loved it! and it reminded me of a family soap opera, almost dynasty or Dallas style with the devious mother, and other things that took place.
The series starts with Selfish when Becca and Ashlyn who are best friends take a holiday. A one night stand turns into a dilemma then more when Ashlyn discovers the guy who rocked her world is Ryder, Becca's brother who has come to surprise Becca on her vacation.
The second book is Myself and is Becca and Jaycent's story. Jaycent is Ryders best friend and so they hide their relationship from Ryder, this book too isnt without its dramas. The series then goes back to Ashlyn and Ryders story.
All three books aren't classed as a trilogy but they kind of are. I don't think you could read any of the books as a standalone and Selfless is the conclusion of the first book after it finishing on cliffhanger.
One think I didn't like was about 35% of this book is a repeat word for word of what I had just read in the previous book? if it was told from a different angle I would of had no issue with that but it was the same everything including conversations but from Ashlyn or Ryder's pov instead wheras in the previous book it was Becca or Jaycent's. This was my only negative.
In summary this is a great read from Selfish through to Selfless. I loved the drama's, the hotness, the swoon worthy moments and the characters.
These three books I found myself getting lost in, lost in the whole soap opera feel of it all.
Everything I love about Contemporary romance is In these books. Highly recommended.
Told in dual pov's. Leads to heartwarming happy ever after all round.
Arc gratefully received for review purposes
This book is full of LOL parts and some sad parts at times, I wanted to jump in the book at one point and bang their heads together.
I was shouting at my kindle at times they was winding me up so much, these Two are so good together I love the chemistry they have is off the charts.
This book is so good and I fell in love with Ryder even more. Ryder and Ashlyn's story will take you on a rollercoaster of a ride and will have you on the edge of your seat wondering how it will all end. I loved the writing, I started this book and I did not move until I finished the last page.
This couple will be with me for a long while they are one of my favourite couples
I have laughed and had a few tears reading this one Shantel makes you feel what the characters feel like you are right there with them rooting for them.
I cannot wait to see what Shantel brings us next...
This was a great ending to Ryder and Ashlyn’s story.
After walking in on what he assumed was his girlfriend cheating on his at the end of Selfish Ryder is hurting and angry. He cannot believe Ashlyn would choose Bradley over him so goes on a drinking spree. He is sleeping in his office and is distracted from work.
Ashlyn is devastated that Ryder would think so little of her, she is upset and angry that he wouldn’t even give her the chance to explain.
Can these two sort out their differences? What will happen when Ashlyn loses her job and contemplates moving home to Seattle? How will it affect Ryder when he learns some family secrets?
This book kept me on edge right to the end! Fantastic series you must read them!!
