Selene can't stand humanity. There is always stuff she wishes she could do to change things. Then strange things start happening and then Avery shows up and tells her that she is a wish fairy. She has a lot to learn and is able to make differences in the world for once. When the werewolves are in trouble she has no hesitation about jumping in to help. Even at risk to herself.
And of course there is plenty of appearances from our favorite Werewolves!
My opinion: OMG! I Friggin Loved it! Although I yelled a lot while reading this book. There are few WTH moments! I got the you are a weirdo looks from my husband as I'm yelling "oh no that didn't happen" and "What the heck is Heather thinking?". I have been addicted to this series since the start with The Big Bad Wolf series and all of the characters especially the werewolves are dear to my heart so when certain things were happening I was in freak out mode. You will definitely have to read this book to find out how Amazing it was! It's definitely a book that makes you sit on the edge of your seat in suspense. I highly recommend reading!! I can't wait for the next book!

I had a disagreement with the author on facebook when she ripped into me when i had the audacity to ask her a simple question. Loves her readers my foot, only when they fawn all over her.
Anyway the author a few years ago spent a full 12 months living in Oxford when her husband got a once in a lifetime opportunity to teach at Oxford University. All she did was moan and complain about Oxford and the English people, how rude we were, how we all smoked on pavements, how much tax she had to pay, how our food was rubbish, how they didnt sell american food and all she lived on was bread. Her readers including myself on many occasions directed her to the best places to go, to visit, i personally gave her a map to every supermarket near where she lived and restaurants i had visited. Why is all of this relevant you ask? Well she has put the whole lot in this book.
Selene Trystraine is in Oxford, with her twin sister Minerva and their parents live in Oxford.. Selene hates Oxford, full of rude ignorant people, everyone smokes on the pavements, she is constantly choking on cigarette smoke, the local tescos doesnt sell the food she likes, and she lives on bagels.
The tirade the author goes on in the book about the English people and about Oxford in particular, is disgusting and unprofessional. The fact that the author has such a disdain for the English people is extremely offputting, and i found myself becoming more and more irritated as the book went on. By the time she went on another winge about the fact she was in Tescos and they didnt have any food, and at that moment a portal to faerie opened up and she could finally breathe clean air, i almost threw my kindle up the wall. It took me about 6 months to pick the series back up again.
Avery the Seelie King, is not a likeable character, i found him exceptionally irritating, he and Selene got together and hit the hay within hours of meeting. It was just ridiculous. It ended too quickly, no resolution to the story, in fact the whole story took 2 days in reality. Thats beyond stupid.
Absolute prejudiced drivel from beginning to end. Shame as the previous 4 books were fantastic.
Avery was a bit of a surprise for me as I expected him to be darker than he turned out to be, but I think in the long run he was perfect. I can only hope his brother turns out to be rather very dark in comparison.
Selene is Avery's compliment in every way and in true queen profile is as empathetic as the other queens. I look forward to learning more about her sister and their missing past.
I also love the fact that HKW used her recent trip to the UK in the story.
