Noel Kingsbury has a very nice writing technique that gets you through some scientific jargon without feeling jaded.
The subject is taken on methodically and completely and has a very good plant database with ratings for seedheads.
Unlike some books where seedheads are taken in a perfect frost and everything looks perfect. Noel Kingsbury unteints the rose glasses and shows openly the true perfomance of seedheads in a wetter climate.

(Some plants are not hardy enough for certain areas of Northern England and are definately not very useful for my alpine situation but there is plenty of great plants to take note of)

This arrived a long time after I ordered it but it was worth the wait.
A really imaginative book with loads of ideas for planting designs and information about grasses and pernnials with atractive seed heads. There are several charts comparing plants and giving information about planting characteristics, combinations and soil preferences etc so it will be easy to pick the right ones for my garden.
A lovely book.
