This book as long been needed it is not a reprint of the Edda's but explains the symbolism of the stories and the hidden spiritual connections. The book deals with the supple meanings and metaphors that would have been know to the poets and points to a much deeper meaning and significance.

The seed of Yggdrasil is written not has a text book just giving a point of view but actively walks the reader through a process off re-evaluating the poems for often ignored meanings. This is done by using key parts of the poems from the Edda's and walks the reader through a process that results in a much deeper understanding and appreciation of the material that as survived to our day.

Well researched and written interspersed with simple to use charts and well illustrated.

An outstanding study. A clearly written explanation of many years of careful real deep research into the true way to interpret the Eddas. Maria is an academic, in my opinion above academics. she believes in the things that she has discovered and can prove her hypothesis. A useful book to both academics and modern pagans.

For anyone even remotely interested in the ways of the Norse traditions and their hidden meaning.
Maria Kvilhaug has taken the subject matter and turned it on its head. Which was greatly needed in
the current climate !
