It's not often highly qualified martial artists are also highly qualified medics, so these authors write with a great deal of knowledge and authority. The photographs accompanying the text are excellent quality, full colour aids to understanding the text. It's not a page-turner but as a reference it's very, very good.

If there are criticisms then you could quibble about the medical jargon being a little overwhelming at times and the lack of a linking flow (the book is a series of stand-alone techniques within stand-alone chapters on attack points to the head, to the torso, etc.) - but these are the downsides of the book's strengths.

The book is very well made with good quality paper. It should last and stay relevant for years. Overall good value for money.

Very honest book! Good one. If you wish to get a book, guide with clear techniques on how and where to affect human body to get victory in a fight this is not a book for you. I have been expecting book like just said - guide to techniques of vital human body points to affect. This book is very good to get information on where are located points on a human body... What are they look like... Photos are clear and gives you a hint what techniques beside shown on the picture can be applied to the particular point. Anatomical diagrams are exactly I hoped to see. These diagrams very well shows what nerve, muscle is influenced buy affecting this or that area of the body. What I also appreciate in this book is what to expect after particular activity in a particular area. So, whether human being will be unconscious or will scream in a terrible sufferings of the pain. At the end of the book authors are honest that I really appreciate and they tell you if person is dressed in a manner we do in Europe and especially in late autumn, winter and early spring these points of human body won't be available and none of techniques related particular zones affecting of the body will work. I suggest this book who does martial arts on a regular basis.

If you have been waiting for a book on pressure points
then this is the one to get.

It has numerous target pictures with little black dots
stuck on the authors body, man you guys are ugly close up ;-)
There are lots of anatomical diagrams to tell you what's
going on inside, and a nice summary of a few of the more
obvious attack methods for each point.

This book succeeds well where so many have failed. No
earth-air-fire-water B.S., no rehashed acupuncture charts;
just what you need to know to use pressure points on the mat
or in the street.

Of course, as with all thing martial, you really need a good Sensi
to help you along. Don't expect to become a martial artist just by
reading this book.

Brilliant job guys - this book has been none too soon in coming.

:-)

This book should be double the size ,would have been nice if the pictures were bigger

The book is 225 pages long & 23cm high 30cm should be the minimum but saying that I would buy again

after using this book for afew months now and buying other martial arts books with pictures even smaller and in black and white I would give this book one more star

edit : after buying 5 / 6 books of Martial arts I would say that these pictures are some of the best in the books that i have bought so far and now happy to give this book 5 stars

You probably know the points demonstrated in this (very nicely illustrated) book, but it's good to get the underlying science.
