This is one of my favourite light fiction books. Ms Adler's characters seem very real and the description of the places visited are so vivid you can really imagine being there. The author could however make the storyline a bit more credible. She conveniently skips the formalities of eg. how can a girl who doesn't know who she is travel from America to France? Surely she would need a passport like the rest of us mortals with name, birthdate etc. The same goes for a driver's licence in France. I loved Elizabet Adler's early books, 'Property of a lady' was a particular favourite. I do feel the author could do a little more research for her books like when she uses foreign words and turn the singular into plural by adding an 's' as one would in English, as an example, the Italian 'signora' becomes 'signoras' which would be like saying 'one woman' 'two womans' or 'one child' 'two childs' in English etc. I have bought a few of the later novels by the author but for me none of them compare to her earlier books which were real gems.

Good story as usual but the print was small and book obviously old. As one has to pay for postage, I will buy for my kindle in future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Adler Cliffhanger 31 Dec. 2014
By frankh - Published on Amazon.com

Elizabeth Adler has always created individuals that defined her stories, and we came to know their personalities and what drove each of them, but never, and I mean, never in an Adler novel, have I experienced a villain like Brad Kane. The intrigue common to Adler's books had me chewing my nails (literally I'm afraid), and cynical person that I am, I didn't expect to feel such an attachment towards the characters, the plot nor the climax which I certainly could not have anticipated. Darn, that Gulfstream of Brad's. Even when the reader can anticipate what is coming, Adler has a way of letting you draw your conclusions but with a twist that doesn't quite line up with what you expected. It is why I love Elizabeth Adler's stories, and why she is the writer, and I the privileged reader.

I loved this story. I am sure I read this book a long, long time ago, but I had forgotten a lot of it.

These are never great literature, but I have read several and always enjoy Adler's writing. When I need a good, quick read that requires absolutely no thought I turn to Adler.

Great reading full of intrigue and suspense, could not put it down. Hawaii and the Villa in France all painted such a wonderful picture.
