Product Description

This exclusive combination pack consists of both the hardcover book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and the DVD The Secret (Extended Edition). Together these two titles provide the best introduction to the Law of Attraction and how you can use it to achieve success in all aspects of your life including work, relationships, wealth creation and finding true happiness. The DVD provides an impactful introduction and overview to the key ideas which the book develops futher. The DVD is the new extended version of The Secret in which Rhonda Byrne and other contributors explain The Law of Attraction and its application to health, money, relationships, happiness etc. The DVD is very well produced and makes its points clearly and forcibly leaving the viewer wanting to learn more. We strongly recommend you watch it first before embarking on the book. The book further develops the ideas raised in the DVD with contributions from 30 of the leading Law of Attraction writers and has an excellent bibliography. The book also explains how to use techniques such as meditation, positive thinking and visualisation to strengthen The Law of Attraction which resides in all of us. The sum of the book and DVD is definitely greater than the parts!

Loved the DVD and it really opened my eyes even if it's a bit too Hollywood (you know like the Gillete ads)and makes claims that seem too good (or too bad depending on your point of view) to be true. The book then answers many of the questions raised /claims made in the DVD so they work well together. The DVD gets you salivating and then the book fills you up.

You can interpret The Secret (aka The Law of Attraction) as sort of positive thinking taken to it's logical conclusion ("thoughts become things") or interpret it more spiritually. Although my god Rhonda Byrne is claiming a lot for the Law of Attraction in The Secret (as in you want in it, you beleive in it, you do what the books says, you get it!). Still even if only 1% of what Rhonda Byrne's claims in The Secret comes through it will still be life changing for me or anyone else for that matter.

Good for you Rhonda Byrne!!!!

ps def get book and DVD together.

pps def watch DVD first

ppps def watch alone or with like minded people as its really easy for cynics to pour scorn (you know what I mean - your mate who whenever you mention a new idea/project always knows better and then explains to you at great length why you/your project/idea will fail - we've all got a mate or two like that!)

pppps delivery only took 24 hours which was wonderful

ppppps Rhonda if you or your people are reading this please make a sequel

I've never heard about the DVD (or the book) called "The Secret" until my mom recommended me to watch it.
I imagined it to be the "Indiana Jones" or "Da Vinci Code" action-adventure sort of movie but it appeared to be a documentary!
I was really intrigued and impressed by the ideas expressed in the movie by all these great amazing people that have been interviewed in the documentary (Marie Diamond, Bob Proctor, Dr. Joe Vitale, John Assaraf, Laral Langemeier, REv. Dr. Mochael Beckwith, Jack Canfield, Esther Hicks, Dr. John Hagelin, Fred Alan Wolf, Dr. DEnis Waitley, Bob Doyle, James Arthur Ray, John Gray, Lee Brower, Mike Dooley, David Schirmer, Lisa Nichols, Dr. John Demartini, Dr. Ben Johnson, Morris E. Goodman, Cathy Goodman and Neal Donald Walsch!).
The main idea of the documentary is to introduce "The Secret" which is rather simple and actually pretty well known - "The Law of Attraction". It explains why "rich get rich and poor get poor" or "like attracts alike". The documentary says that a human thought can create reality - no matter if the thought is conscious or unconscious and wether we believe in it or not. It shows few stories about people getting rich,, recovering from illnesses, improving their relationships or getting what they want by using "The Secret" (positive thinking).
I really loved the DVD and I watch it rather often because I find it very positive, inspiring, life changing and simply incredible!
I'd recommend it to everyone.

The Secret is presented as a single, coordinated idea, it is not. The movie is a rather unstructured walk over a wide range of topics, some it treats in a reasonable, if rather shallow, way and others not. The collection of people speaking on behalf of "The Secret" are billed for example as a Philosopher, Physicist, Doctor, Finance Expert, Metaphysicist, Fen-Shui Expert and a Visionary. For the most part, they talking about different things and though they keep presenting their piece as a build on what has been said before, it really is not. The style is that of a "a get-rich-quick" infommercial with a slightly tugged stylistic forelock in the direction of the da Vinci Code and The Lord of the Rings.

In essence, the main idea is about being thankful for our gifts and visualizing success which increases the chance of something working verses doing very little and getting into a victim mind. This idea is variously ascribed to a collection of "big names" from the past, (e.g. Buddha, Leonardo da Vinci, Issac Newton, Shakespeare, Beethoven and Einstein) or NASA or God, depending on who is speaking Examples are given where thinking positively and visualizing what you want has brought in vast riches, a trophy-house and upping the rate at which a man could get dates with wannabe Los Angeles actresses, three a week apparently. These lofty goals are crystallized into the "Law of Attraction" which appears to state that if you think about money and beautiful people they will come to you and if you think about miserable stuff you will get poor, miserable people around you. The extensive piece on the desiring and acquiring of consumer goods was, quite frankly, repulsive.

I have seen this video. Basically it leads you to believe that there is a mysterious 'secret' to achieve all you want. According to the author, if you'd like a Ferrari, just sit on your sofa, close your eyes and vividly imagine and feel that you are driving one, then the Universe will conspire to get you one. This is ridicolous. I am not arguing against POSITIVE thinking, and I agree that negative thinking will likely get one into more of what 'he doesn't want', but the author makes you believe that all you need to do is being grateful and sit on your sofa going 'VRRROOOOMMM'.....
Ridicolous. All you can really do is plan, ACT, and hope in a bit of luck too. Everything else is for mugs who didn't grow up.

Also, 'The Secret' is even potentially dangerous. I have heard that some people had some bad disease which got worse because they were following the great advice of this DVD and were 'thinking' themselves into health instead of going to a doctor. Read the article on Wikipedia before thinking of buying this DVD. And if you buy it, oh well, good luck and let us all know how it worked out with your new Ferrari.
