All things said, this was an easy and enjoyable book to read and represented a much needed brand new slant on AH. Are we all bored with the Confederates winning the Civil War or the Nazis the Second World War yet?

The action was well crafted and national stereotypes employed by other, better known authors of this genre were artfully avoided! That, to me, made it all the more pleasurable to read.

There were one or two silly moments which made one cringe. The first was american soldiers firing the guns on a Royal Navy cruiser and hitting a target! Another was a nurse and biplane pilot flying a four engined bomber. Not to mention all of the coincidences!

I could also have done with a bit more explanation on how the war started and what happened leading up to it. It was partially covered but not in enough detail.

I will probably read a sequel. Well done if you are a first time AH author.

Whenever you read an Alternative History book it's usually to do with Nazi's winning the war somehow but this take it differently.
SPOILER* Germany wins WWI and France has to pay reparations to it. Hitler dies during service and Goering is arrested due to his Nazi activities and the party being abolished.

This follows a number of people serving in North Africa where things aren't going so well. The main character Tucker an American, meets the other main character a Nurse who you realise that there is a spark between the two but she is also being pursued by a fellow Doctor.

When I was reading this I was thinking that typical, Americans portrayed as being unbeatable but, mixing their training in with SAS, Montgomery' s death in Russia, Rommel coming in late, Germany under the Kaiser with its Central Power allies made for an excellent read.

One of the longer books I have read so far since I have had this Kindle, I would highly recommend this books as it has a number of twists that would change time, and would make you wonder how things would turn out in our time if, it happened.

I also wonder if there would be a sequel as, it though shows the allies regaining the western med and Gibraltar, who eventually wins the war?

for a low price ebook I was amazed, instead of the normal tortured syntax and dubious plot line, this reads like a properly published book. It is well written, has an interesting concept, and has kept me glued to its pages. I look forward to his next.

The premise behind the story is quite good, but the execution feels a little stilted. The resolution of the "love interest" is obvious and the whole thing is basically several ideas bolted together without any of them being sufficiently explored. The author needs to decide if this is supposed to be an alternative history strategy exploration, alternative history technology/tactics exploration, or a wartime love story set aginst an alternative reality. This has elements of all three, which, in the end, sells all three ideas short.

There are more than a few implausabilities in the story but its a stonking good read that simply races along. So just sit back and let yourself fall into the page and enjoy.
