Review

"The single, most important principle of all our political societies is the right of self-determination and self-governance. In this book, Douglas MacKinnon examines the great American tradition of secession as a viable solution to the political turmoil facing hundreds of millions of people today across the entire political spectrum." --Scott Strzelczyk, the Western Maryland Initiative

"MacKinnon's book is a provocative read for those disgusted by the failures of big, incompetent government." Roger Stone Jr., "New York Times" bestselling author

"Douglas MacKinnon's provocative new work will both shock and enlighten, but perhaps it is time to rethink our understanding of Union and the nature of the general government in Washington D.C. MacKinnon provides a simple answer. If it can't be fixed, do as the founding generation did and leave." Brion McClanahan, PhD, author of "The Founding Fathers Guide to the Constitution""

5.0 out of 5 stars Better Than Jesus 22 Oct. 2014
By Ciaran Healy - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
As a frothing, desperate, impotent, fat, self-righteous 40 year old infant with a world-view so simplistic it might as well have been drawn in crayon, I am constantly on the lookout for shrieking noise that confirms the divisive lunacy on which I base my sense of self.

I felt the first stirrings of an ideological erection when I read about how climate change is a communist conspiracy, and even gained some small sense of priapic emotion from wallowing in contrived paranoid fantasies about black presidents and birth certificates, but have never been able to truly achieve the climax of faux-conservative gibbering that I, and my wife-sister craved.

No more. This man suggests that the South secedes from the Union, although not Texas as it has become corrupted with Mexicans.

He further suggests that this nation be called "Reagan."

It is a country of 'traditional' values, if by traditional you mean thuggish hatred of, and terror of, gay people. As descriptions of the gay menace fill 80% of the 0.02% of the Bible I have read, I immediately came.

Came to the realization that people like me have a new fantasy we can use to loudly humiliate the traditions we claim to love by being horrific, ugly, worthless people.

Never have I been so happy. I have ordered 100000 copies of this book, and will use them to construct a temple to Christ, Ayn Rand and a bunch of other people who's work I have never read and have no interest in. I will then sit inside it and daub the walls with Glenn-Beck-inspired slogans in my own faeces, which is the one thing those liberals will never see coming.

Apart from me. They'll never see me coming either.

But I will. I will.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing and unoriginal 22 Oct. 2014
By Todd R. Overton - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This book is pretty unexceptional in terms of the ideas expressed. Indeed, some of them seem like they have been around for 150 years. The one real surprise was that he wants to name his new country after the President who signed an amnesty law that legalized millions of undocumented immigrants, exploded the national debt, increased the size and scope of government in just about every way, doubled the size of Medicaid, banned the sale of automatic weapons, appointed activist judges like Vaughn Walker and Richard Posner, singlehandedly defeated the Briggs Initiative, and spat in the face of traditional one-man-and-one-woman-for-life marriage by divorcing.

One annoying editing problem: The word used to refer to the process of splitting up the country by having conservative states break away to form their own nation is consistently misspelled on the cover and throughout the book. The proper spelling is T-R-E-A-S-O-N. A better editor would have caught the error.

1.0 out of 5 stars From an Ex-Californian - You've been naughty so we're taking your states away from you - Beware! 22 Oct. 2014
By Craig Ayliffe - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
As a life-long resident of Coastal California, it is amusing and intriguing to think that my newly adopted state of South Carolina would secede from the USA. South Carolina receives $1.84 for every dollar it gives to the Federal government. It's top 3 crops are cotton, tobacco and marijuana in that order. In a short time it would be on the economic level of Honduras. Yet, many residents of the southeast continue to enjoy the inventiveness and generosity of the Left Coast, most recently, computers, cell phones, equal marriage rights and HD television. And as for America's current President, there is something about him that many natives here can't abide - I can't think for the life of me what that is.

1.0 out of 5 stars Another seditionist lunatic who thinks anyone other than delusional traitors ... 22 Oct. 2014
By bill fitts - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
Another seditionist lunatic who thinks anyone other than delusional traitors to America will listen to his ranting tempter-tantrum over a black man being in "his" White House.

Off to the dustbin of history for your ilk.
