1.0 out of 5 stars With apologies to Miss Austen, "It ought not to be attempted." 19 Dec. 2013

I've come across a number of sadly, badly done JAFF, but this novel just might take the cake. Where to begin: the poor use of English, the lack of basic P&P knowledge, the lack of a storyline during the first half of the book, the ridiculous medical demise of our villain, the lack of any sort of editing, the lack of basic social proprieties by our couple. I am overwhelmed by the number of reasons that this should not have made it to publishing. Perhaps, if someone would take the trouble to start over (under the auspices of an editor) it might, perhaps, be salvaged as something worth reading, even worth buying. We all deserve better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just Plain Bad 31 Mar. 2014

I've read dozens of P&P variations and sequels and this one is easily the worst of the lot. It's not just a bad variation, it's just plain a very bad novel. The writing is of incredibly poor quality. I can guess that English is not the first language of the author. Vocabulary is bad, language is stilted, syntax is miserable, and sentence structure is poor. This novel is an outstanding example of how not to write a novel. I'm amazed I made it through four of about twelve chapters before I pitched it. (I refer to chapters because there are no page numbers.) Formatting, for a self published book, is acceptable. That's about the best thing I can say about this self published book which has no copyright notice, nor an ISBN number. There is no title page and the name of the publisher is not mentioned. I cite only a few of the oversights in order to show what an amateur job this is. A miserable book. Avoid it.
