A different slant on the romance stories. Good story telling and a good ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable 12 Jun. 2017

Such an enjoyable story. Contains the loss of a wife & a grieving husband. And a young female who his wife & he wanted to help have a new life in America. - Lots going on - feelings, hurts, enjoying life, etc. Yes, Sara does cry fairly often but since she has been alone since she was 12/13 and had only God & her faith in Him to see her make it through life - therefore Sara cried because she felt the love and acceptance that she was not accustomed to and was very thankful for the blessing that God was bringing her way.

2.0 out of 5 stars Kept waiting for more 19 Jun. 2015

I really wanted to like this book. I kept going back to it hoping it would really grab my attention. But unfortunately, it was just so slow, so confusing (the character's thoughts were often a bit obscure), and Sara was just too weepy. How in the world could he fall in love with her... other than the fact that she catered to his every need. No backbone or spunk at all.

I did finish it, but won't be reading the rest of the series.

I CAN'T SAY WHEN I'VE READ A BOOK THAT I'VE ENJOYED MORE THAN THIS ONE BY NONA MAE KING. THIS HEARTFELT STORY MADE YOU FEEL AS IF YOU KNEW THE CHARACTERS YOURSELF. IT'S WONDERFULLY SURPRISING TO READ A STORY THAT IS FILLED WITH TRULY INSPIRING WORDS IN EVERY CHAPTER. I CAN'T WAIT TO READ MORE OF THIS GIFTED WRITER'S WORK.

I didn't give it a great review due to the fact that Sara must have cried on every single page of the book. I decided to name here Sorrowful Sara. Some crying would have been acceptable but I know many Christians who go through a lot and don't cry as much as Sara. It is better to use some things sparingly to make a greater impact. The book has a great story and is well written. I don't like the epilogue as people cannot come back from the dead and talk to people...it isn't scriptural.

1.0 out of 5 stars very frustrating main character 4 July 2015
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

I like Christian fiction but this was terrible. The main character, while understandably timid, was beyond pathetic. Someone who touted a strong faith in Christ, through many life tragedies in England, went through life in America as a crying weakling. I wanted her to put on her "full Armor" and use it. She prayed and waited on God but when out in the "real world" all she did was cry. Very frustrating story.
