I thoroughly enjoyed reading the books of the Imaginarium Geographica. It was great fun imagining and reading about famous writers, philosophers and prophets, seeing bits of their possible personalities. It almost brought them back alive and as most of them are greatly admired people, the idea that they could still be around, influencing happenings and literature made these books very endearing. I'm sure many people would jump at the possibility at talking to and listening to these great personalities and the book almost gives one the feeling one is doing so, even though it is all of course made up... or not?!... a real Imaginarium Geographica... ;-)
I thought it was very interesting to find connections between books, mythologies and legends. Throughout reading the book I was kept alert looking and finding all the bits and bobs of learned and read knowledge. Several times I could recall a little "aha" effect. It just all seems that little bit possible and the recurrences of known people and legends made it all the more interesting. Thank you for some great books!

Untalented narrative, uninspirational story and completely disrespectful to the creative writers of all times. If you don't get bored in the first pages and leave this book aside, you will see that the writer takes the writers you admire and makes them act stupidly, talk stupidly, and even critisize other writers stupidly. If I were a fledgling writer, I would definitely refrain from making assumptions about and using geniuses of literature in my upstart writing. I'm not sure this criticism will appear on this page, but this book has annoyed me so much that I can't be more graceful than the writer has been.

Please, Mr Owen, leave our writers alone and work a little harder.

5.0 out of 5 stars James Owen stands on the shoulders of giants... 18 Jan. 2008

And he stands tall. This book is a masterpiece of fantastic literature that has something to please everyone.

A perfect merge of his own storyline with history, mythology, and prominent fantastical and science-fictional litearure will make this book a delight for anyone who picks it up, child or adult.

As an adult, you will feel compelled to brush on your literature, as the great masters of universal storytelling are referenced time and again. And you will find children interested in many classic authors, opening their horizons considerably. These books will make kids go back to Cervantes, Dickens, Verne and many more, and do it joyfully.

This is an absolute recommendation for anyone who loves fantasy, literature, and good stories in general. Be sure to read the whole story and pick up "Here, There be Dragons", book one of this fabulous Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica Series.

I cannot wait for part three to come out.

Great book, nice follow up to the 1st in the series. Its a complicated story that ties all of the famous fantasy writers into a "possible" history of how they developed their tales. I would suggest picking up this one and Here, there be Dragons.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book 4 Jan. 2011

As was the first one, this book is excellent.
It goes for every character that we read as children.
It's actually better than the first one, because it goies deeper in this world and with that all the mistery that circles around is amazing.
The author gives a different perspective on the main characters and a more psicological view of them, also on the companions.
The use of the world he created and the literature that is it base on, is really well done.
I just want to read the other books t complete the adventure!

Thanks for this stories!
