Normally I'd have a lot to say about a product, especially after all the research I put into deciding if this was the product I needed. I'll nutshell it instead:
- THIS IS THE MAX STORAGE A PS3 SUPPORTS - I was looking into getting the 2TB, all research and reports say 1.5TB> won't be recognised.
- 105 digital PS3 games (most are PS+), 29 physical PS3,12 PS1 games installed. The HDD shows 884GB space still available.
- You're going to need to use a USB to install the OS (v4.82 at time of writing). My first 1GB USB wouldn't recognise even though it was formatted twice on PC to both FAT32 and exFAT. My other USB was fine using exFAT. I could only determine the problem being the age/model of the USB itself.
If you are looking for a replacement HDD for your PS3 then buy this one. You won't need to worry about having to delete games! Tbh 1.5TB is probably a little overkill. 1TB is probably adequate enough if you've a large(ish) collection but on a budget.
I'm trying to extend the lifespan of my old console/Blu-ray player by replacing the Holy Trinity: Thermal Paste (Arctic Silver 5), 1.5TB HDD and optical disc drive (KES-450 AAA). This product, put simply, works as intended.
