Format: Perfect Paperback
Of all the Creating Keepsakes Treasury Of Favourites books, I would say this is the best. The aim of the book is to provide you with solutions to your scrapbook challenges and it is split into 4 sections: organisation, creativity, supplies, and photography & technology. It gives advice on things such as how to avoid the perfection trap, use up your supplies in creative ways and get over colour & composition problems. The layouts are stuning and large enough to read the journaling and see the small accents clearly. You will be inspired to start scrapbooking straight away, whether you want to copy a layout exactly, take a few small features from it or use it's colour scheme. While the layouts are more advanced, you are made to feel that you could easily achieve the same results. In addition the book contains ideas for individual embellishments such as tags, frames & accents, and also different techniques to try with your supplies. I was amazed at how big this book was and just how many layouts and ideas it contains. Definately worth buying if you feel you are stuck in a scrapbooking rut.It encourages you to try new things, find your own style & forget all the rules you have set yourself in the past.

This is a good book, containing lots of information on techniques, organising your supplies and the technical computer side of scrapbooking e.g. printers, scanners. But if you are looking more for layout ideas and topics to scrapbook, i recommend Scrapbooking Everyday Moments or Scrapbooking Family and Friends (both by Creating Keepsakes). This is a good book to buy but you should buy the other two first.

5.0 out of 5 stars For beginners who advance in skills quickly 16 May 2005

I'm new to scrapbooking, but I've flipped through many, many books (although not magazines). This book contains some of the best styles I've seen: not cheap looking or trendy. There are advance techniques in here, but I think they are explained well and broken down in easy steps. Besides, most people who scrapbook/do crafts are very willing to learn new and interesting techniques. I think this is a book I will refer to for a long time as my skills develop. I also like the sections on organizing the workspace, choosing cameras, printers, and computer techniques. It's an excellent well-rounded reference.

I was able to reference back for the how- to's as well as some ideas for the actual "look" of some pages. this book
was very helpful to me.
