'Sue Lawrence is a rock star' --Guardian

'Breathtakingly clear photography, paired with minimalist layout, help contemporise the humble scone, oatcake and bannock, reflecting their renewed appreciation by a younger generation of bakers . . . Beats the GBBO's fussy showstoppers hands-down' --Herald

nice clear concise easy to follow recipes, and pictures that are "normal" not made to look like something soo perfect, that to try and get the same effect is impossible....so the recipe's match the pictures and vise versa, this is not my first Sue Lawrence book, and as her other recipes all "work" then I see no reason that these would be any different, a lovely book to have as part of your collection, or a superb present for a "baking friend" who loves to do easy recipes, and have a book that is not overcomplicated with lots of writing, brief explanations are enough, and this book delivers all of this....and yummy bakes to try too.

This book is a treat for us Scots living in exile (England !), as it has many recipes baked as we know them from our Scottish childhood. Well laid out and easy to follow.

Not a lot of pictures and it's always nice to see the end result quick for making a choice. I like traditional bakes and it's nice to see the scottish recipes together.
