Directions

Read and carefully follow all instructions. Use only on clean & dry or new articles. Make a test on a small inconspicuous area and allow to dry for 12 hours to test for colour fastness and that the material is not affected in any way. Shake the can well. Holding upright, spraying material evenly at 20cm (8 inches) from the surface. Spray uniformly from side to side and then from top to bottom. Do not saturate. I have to be fair and not give this too low a grade, but for my intended purposes (and you may have the same idea in mind) it did not do the job at all: I wanted to treat my wellington boots so they wouldn't need cleaning. First thing's first: protect exposed skin, make sure the coating is applied outdoors and on a removable surface (e.g. cardboard or sheeting) and cover your eyes. Also, don't drop the can on the lid, because if it cracks then it's going to leave you exposed to any accidental release from the can, it's a fragile lid. Reading the description you will see that this is not recommended for plastic or rubber, with my wellingtons being fashioned from PVC I thought I'd try my luck. I wanted to spray these with two coats, waiting several days for drying in-between use. I tried to see if the water resistant coating worked after the first coat before applying a second. Unfortunately it did not work at all, in fact it left strange watery marks even after dousing with water to clean them, the first coating was less effective than the standard PVC coating, I was really disappointed. It was a similar case for the second coating, some days later, another disappointment. As I feared, this spray will not work on your PVC wellington boots, which is a real shame as it would be the perfect applicant for it, I will have to look elsewhere.

    I have been using this on jackets and my walking boots for a few months now and so good so far. I think that you need to give it about three coats on jackets for it to be up to standard but it doesn’t take long and I wore a jacket (soft shell type) last weekend in two days of rain and it was bone dry inside so very happy. I use it on the walking boots as it just seems to make them easier to clean off when they are really muddy. For under £8 a can will do one coat properly and then have enough left to probably give it another few goes if you need to wash it so a summer season easily.

    Bought a couple of cans of this to waterproof a couple of new coats I purchased. This stuff can work great on the right materials but struggles with others. One of the coats I bought was more of polyester style bomber jacket with hood that was already slightly waterproof but struggled in anything beyond a bit of drizzle. Using this spray has since helped it go that stage further making it water resistant in heavier downpours where water just runs straight off of it as desired rather than soaking into the material.

    My other coat, bit of a mix between a parka and a duffel took the spray well but it hasn't had the waterproofing effect that I was hoping it would have like the other one mentioned above. I wouldn't say this stuff is amazingly great value but does payoff in certain situations and on the right materials. One can of spray lasted me enough to just about spray each coat a sufficient amount to waterproof them just a shame that it didn't take to my second coat. I sprayed both coats outside where it was well ventilated which I was glad I did as I would imagine the smell getting a bit overpowering in an enclosed space. Once sprayed both coats were fine to bring inside as most of the smell had gone from them by then.

    My advice would be to do a test patch in a discrete area like it says on the tin not only to make sure it doesn't discolour whatever you spray it onto but also to see if the water repellent effects to indeed work on what you're aiming to spray.

    THIS PRODUCT. I bought a new (very expensive) down coat on massive reduction from Mountain Warehouse. Lo and behold, it was NOT WATERPROOF in any way shape or form as claimed, it wasn't even WATER RESISTANT as the inner label said. Bought this product, sprayed on, left overnight and when tested the water just runs right off! Held it under the tap and water runs around the surface trying to escape. Brilliant product, I can now go out in british weather without worrying about damaging the down in my coat! Only down side is that it is very smelly- I would apply outside/

    The service was very good. I am not a hundred percent sure about the spray. The last time I purchased this spray it was in the orange packaging this came in green. When I used the original it dried very quickly and was very effective this time I found the spray to be wet and took an overnight to dry out. I have had to put a second coat on as my walking shoes still had a seep through at the side.

Directions:

Read and carefully follow all instructions. Use only on clean & dry or new articles. Make a test on a small inconspicuous area and allow to dry for 12 hours to test for colour fastness and that the material is not affected in any way. Shake the can well. Holding upright, spraying material evenly at 20cm (8 inches) from the surface. Spray uniformly from side to side and then from top to bottom. Do not saturate. A second application in the same manner will provide increased protection. Allow to dry for 12 hours before use. Reapply after cleaning to maintain and rejuvenate repellency. Do not use on imitation leather, plastic or rubber. Use in well ventilated areas. Do not breath vapour or spray. Avoid contact with skin, wash any splashes immediately with plenty of soap and water. It is advisable to wear rubber gloves to avoid contact with the product. Keep out of reach of children.
