I don't play golf so have not used the golf function. However this is valuable for keeping tennis scores for 2 players. For tennis mode it has 5 - set memory. Choose a server by pressing action button 1 or 2 and the server will be indicated by a box around P1 or P2. To enter a point for either player press action button 1 for player 1 or action button 2 for player 2. To subtract or correct a point, the same is done.If both playerS reach 6:6 an option to play a tiebreak 'y' is shown or 'n' to continue in regular play mode until one player wins by 2 games. This is pretty neat, only you have to keep applying the scores yourself, and that interrupts the play, but it is quick and fast so no problem.
The watch is all so a stop watch useful for timed exercises and events. You can set the watch to the All score mode which has a 7 game memory.
I think the most important part of this is the little user manual that came with it which details how to use it and how to change from one thing to the other.
It is a small devise like a regular armband watch but quite complex in its use and settings.
As mentioned I have had and used the scoreband for tennis. I do not play golf. It is really easy to use. Press the mode button to select tennis. Each press of the mode button goes through the different functions such as time, golf, tennis, all sports. There are two action buttons. In tennis mode I use the top button for player one which is the opponent and the bottom button for me. At the start of a match I hold the reset button for a few seconds, then press the action button for the player who is serving first. After a point is scored you press the top or bottom action button for the scorer. If you need to correct a mistake then just hold down the action button you wish to correct and press the button again to confirm. The same can be done if the game score had been entered by mistake. Tiebreak is scored in the same way after selecting a 6all or deciding to continue a full set. I have got used to keeping score after each point. This is a great little device and I would recommend it to anyone that plays tennis or golf. My memory is not as good as it used to be and saves any arguments about the score. I am now always asked what the score is.
Update on scoreband is that the replacement product again broke in the same place after a few weeks use. It is only used for playing tennis. This time is was worn on about three occassions only.
I think the scoreband is a great idea, but the old one had issues with the mechanics breaking, and this one the strap.
