This is a great book by Wallace D.Wattles, which has stood the test of time. There is an exact science to getting rich and the details are simple as they are fascinating. The concept of getting rich is an exact science which when followed yields the result of success and creation of wealth, once you begin to do things in a certain way. The opening sentence of the book is quite profound and one many of us will agree with :
"Whatever may be said in praise of poverty, the fact remains that it is not possible to live a really complete or successful life unless one is rich.No man can rise to his greatest possible height in talent or soul development unless he has plenty of money; for to unfold the soul and to develop talent he must have many things to use, and he cannot have these things unless he has money to buy them with. A man develops in mind, soul, and body by making use of things, and society is so organized that man must have money in order to become the possessor of things; therefore, the basis of all advancement for man must be the science of getting rich.”
He then goes on to elaborate on this science. My favourite chapter in this book remains, Chapter 7, the chapter on Gratitude. Gratitude in all that we do seems to be a forgotten path for many. For all that we receive from the Almighty God, all that is demanded of us is gratitude which must be the bowing of our souls in grateful thanks to HIM the Almighty. How this enriches our lives is explained in detail in this chapter and in the word of Wallace we read further in this chapter "There is a Law of Gratitude, and it is absolutely necessary that you should observe the law, if you are to get the results you seek.

I read two or three of these books - all extremely optimistic and upbeat to begin with which convinced me of the power of thought - mind over matter. Then 2/3rds or so through all similar books comes the 'oops - didn't we mention - your input' - which of course is totally logical but not in my opinion what the books suggest when you purchase them. Being prepared to believe other than logically I bought several. The implication within them is that if you totally desire something the law of attraction will bring it to you and indeed that is what they all say through most of their texts.. However, the 'oops' bit puts you right. In other words if you are not of working age and you do not have a job, or profession or vocation or come up with some wonderful invention you have got absolutely no chance whatsoever of bringing your wishes to fruition i.e. thinking yourself rich. In other words you have to be of working age. Having been retired for 5 years looking and feeling no older than late 50's, on a modest pension with a small nest egg I felt more glum when I got to the end of the books than when I began them. In other words they told me what I already knew - you get nothing for nothing and the power of thought alone will not do it. 'If wishes were horses, beggars would ride'.

It had a few good points however these could have been summed up in half a page.
The text is small and crammed together
It felt more like a leaflet than a book
The grammar was poor (spelling mistakes etc).
I would advise to perhaps get this on a kindle instead of print so the text can be enlarged/or perhaps it's been formated correctly only for a kindle.

Still relevant today. Read it and change your attitude to wealth and abundance. Its amazing how a lot of us carry such negative beliefs about money or rich people. This will help re-educate you and once you change your mind set you will attract more abundance.

If you read this and practice it's very simple premise then ones life becomes wholly better. It is focusing on wealth, which is of course a vital pillar in life if you wish to do much, but as a system and belief it will beautify all aspects of your being, and put you squarely in tune with nature.
