The colour doesn't take, and what does stay, isn't near the colour on the box. Purple turns pinky/bluey, Pink comes out red, blue comes out navy/purple.
I put it on bleached hair, and it also looses colour so quickly that your hair becomes a straw like ginger within 3 washes.
Save your money and buy another brand.
The colour is so dark near the rest of my hair (which is dark brown) that it is barely noticeable. In fact, at first glance it nearly looks like I've just covered it with black that hasn't taken very well, especially in normal light of day. Absolutely gutted, wouldn't use again and wouldn't recommend. Sorry Schwarzkopf, I love Shocking Pink and will continue to use it, but this is a waste of money. Can't wait until the grace period so I can strip this out, it looks appalling.
I have provided a picture to the gallery just to show the colour you should more or less expect rather than what you expect from the packaging.
I hate the way that they try to explain how to do it on the packaging and I think that's one reason people are having such an issue with this. Hair colour doesn't take on wet hair. It has to be at least day old dry hair and by day old I mean you do this the day after you wash your hair. I find with this you are best to just put the product on as is because adding conditioner just lightens the colour. The longer you can leave the colour on your hair the better. I try and leave it on for about an hour before I wash it out and while it's in I wrap my hair up in tin foil just because it's easiest to fold, etc. Some people say that you should only do this with blonde hair or it ruins the colour but I've never had a problem. When I go to wash it out I find it works best to wash it out just so that there's not loads of product left in your hair, don't overdo it trying to get the water to run clear. No matter how long I've tried to run water over it until it goes clear it never happens. I just carefully shampoo the top of my head so my hair's still getting washed and then lather on the conditioner to my ends. Conditioner stops it from running as much for a little bit. Dry as soon as possible to avoid a lot of colour transfer on your towels between getting out of the shower and drying your hair.
Definitely a messy colour but so worth going through it when you know how to do it properly.Read more ›
I would recommend anyone using unnatural colours to do top ups, but especially those using blue at is one of the quicker to fade. Once every one to two weeks I mix a quarter tube of this with about the same amount of a good quality conditioner, stick it in my hair, wrap in tin foil and leave to sit for about an hour, then rinse with cold water. It is essentially dyeing but by mixing it with the conditioner my hair is really soft and anything that gets stained is really easily cleaned as the dye is diluted. But it keeps my hair looking really blue and it's really cheap as I'm only using a quarter of a tube each time.
All in all this is pretty good dye especially for the price of it but I would use a more expensive blue the first time as a base and then use this for top ups but that's just me. One star off as any time I leave too long between top ups and I do notice fade it's a very green colour, and not a particularly nice one.

I don't wash my hair at least a week before I dye, and try to do the same after. I have never had any issues with the colour setting, and it is always bright. Read morePublished 4 months ago by Ms. S. Buckle

Can't really comment - only discovered afterwards that I did not apply it correctly. I put it on dry hair instead of wet, and got virtually no result at all.Published 7 months ago by Amazon Customer
