HASH(0x9be95bac) out of 5 stars My son LOVES this piano! 7 Jan. 2010

This piano is all my son asked for for Christmas after seeing it in a magazine. So for 2 months, this is what he said he wanted so I HAD to get it. Who wants to let a 4 year old down. So, after searching and searching (sold out everywhere) I found this one left on Cyber Monday at like a $100 discount with free shipping with UPS. So I snatched it up...was at my door within 3 days (super fast shipping). Piano is on outside of box (so had to hide fast). Husband put together within about 30-45 minutes. He said it was really easy to put together. Son was sooo excited on Christmas morning! Well worth it. I read some reviews about it sounding kiddy, but it's a child's piano. Sounds fine for a child. Would recommend!

HASH(0x9bb446a8) out of 5 stars Terrible upgrade from the Schoenhut 30 9 Feb. 2015

I am a performing musician who occasionally uses odd instruments, so my review will be a bit different. I love my 30-key Schoenhut elite baby grand and often work it into performances. I wanted to upgrade to more keys, so I bought the 37. Big mistake! I assumed they would just add 7 keys to a 30, but instead they eliminated 5 of the low keys, then added 12 high keys. The low keys they eliminated sound great on my 30, and the high keys they added on the 37 sound terrible. What were they thinking? Even worse, Schoenhut did this with their other 37s as well - Spinet and Concert Grand. I returned mine. If you really want 37 keys, you might as well save money and get a Merske. I bought one of those also and can't tell much difference in the sound. That said - they are well built and quite beautiful to look at. I still love my Schoenhut 30, but the 37 sucks.

HASH(0x9b7ba1bc) out of 5 stars Very nice but... 9 Feb. 2011

Every time my two year old boy would see a piano he would light up with excitement. When it came time to leave we had to pry his hands off of the piano. So I decided to do some research on children's pianos and found the Schoenhut series to be the best. I particularly like the fact that the keys are the same size as a regular piano, that way if he does pick up on the piano the transition to a regular piano will be easier. The black finish is surprisingly very attractive and was not that difficult to assemble. The only reason I can't give this piano 5 stars is because after a few days of use there are two keys that are stuck which was very disappointing in my book. Once he gets old enough to start learning to play I'm probably going to have to open it up and try to fix it. Other than that he is very happy with it and continues to love playing the piano.

HASH(0x9b8b3048) out of 5 stars Great Response by Shoenhut to Small Problem 22 Dec. 2010

The bench arrived slightly damaged. Shoenhut responded immediately and most professionally. A replacement bench arrived in 3 days,in plenty of time for Christmas. It's a beautiful piano which looks as good as a real grand piano. The grandsons are thrilled and learning already (we celebrated Christmas early).Schoenhut 37 Key Elite Baby Grand with Bench

HASH(0x9baef0c0) out of 5 stars A nice stepping stone to a real piano 22 Jan. 2015

My concerns before purchasing (which I gleamed from reading other reviews) are greatly outweighed by how much my kids (1.5 & 3.5) love this toy and how cute it looks in our formal living room (it's 100 times better than the neon mini trampoline we have in the dining room).

My kids were interested in a piano from visiting my parents, who have a traditional upright. We're not ready to make that investment yet, so this is a great next step. Yes, it's a toy and yes, it sounds a little tinny (but it's well tuned and it's better than our toy guitars, plastic maracas, etc.) but my 3 year old feels very grown up when he sits at it and he is OH SO PROUD each time he plays a song (from the included book) by himself. His little sister can't wait to be able to do the same. I only wish Schoenhut made a toy piano big enough for two children to play at the same time (like they enjoy doing at Grandma and Grandpa's).

We were torn between the 37 key and the 30 key, but I'm happy we got the bigger one. I've found more sophisticated (two hand) arrangements that use the fuller range and I enjoy playing them on this piano (yes, I'm an adult). On that note, you can play cords on this, but more in a staccato fashion rather than smoothly. If I'm reviewing this from my perspective, I would like a 44 key, since I could probably do more things with it!

Anywho, I digress. Obviously, if our children continue their interest in piano, we'll consider a *real* piano, but for now, this is perfect.
