★✩★✩★ 5- Dangerously Deadly Betrayal -Stars ★✩★✩★
~this review may contain minor spoilers~
~I feel the innocent, fragile mind that was my norm vanish into the wind, like pieces of a dandelion blowing into the darkness and fluttering down into a world of angst and bravery. White wings which were once my sign of innocence have molted into dark, ominous feathers, piecing off one by one.~
After being set up to look like a rat by her mother, Dani puts her life on the line and embraces her inner-darkness to prove her loyalty to her father and the club. But what's worse is the way Shadow has completely abandoned her. The man she gave her heart to didn't doubt her guilt for even a second, never once tried to defend her, and left her to fend for herself even knowing that there is a possibility she will end up with a bullet in her head. Scared and alone, she finds an unlikely ally in one of the members and slowly has to rebuild the trust that was lost between her and the MC.
Buried underneath the hurt of betrayal, Shadow tries to numb the pain the only way he knows how -drugs, booze, and bootie- but shaking Dani from his system proves harder than he expected. He tries to hate her, wants to hate her... but can't. He still wants her, needs her, with every fiber of his being and that just cheeses him off even more. But when evidence comes to light showing that maybe Dani is innocent after all, Shadow has to face the fact that his deeply ingrained trust issues that pushed him to turn his back on her may just have lost him the one woman on this planet that could ever hold his heart and handle his demons. Will he ever be able to earn her forgiveness?Read more ›
I mostly enjoyed the previous book 'What Doesn't Destroy Us' I just had a couple of issues but after the cliffhanger ending I just had to continue on.
My main issue was with Dani and I have to say she didn't annoy me as much in this book as she had in the previous one, don't get me wrong she still had her moments but I don't know of it's just that I'd got used to her or if she was actually less annoying.
Shadow is still as hot as sin although he does try his best at times to make us dislike him, it doesn't work.
Like the previous book this is far-fetched and OTT but this time I expected it and I settled down into it and enjoyed it to the extent where I'll be continuing on with 'The Fear that Divides Us'
Dani and Shadow's story continues here The Scars The Define Us, after the explosive cliffhanger at the end of book one; this picks up where is left off. With Dani being branded a 'rat' by the Devil's Dust MC, and the love of her life hating her, will Dani be allowed back into the club? After being allowed to prove her innocence, the club's Ol' Ladies have a mission, the mission costs heartache an despair within the club, but what will be the ultimate conclusion for Dani and Shadow?
'Lust like a saint, trust like a sinner.'
Oh bloody hell, this book is EXPLOSIVE I was sat on the edge of my seat with suspense. I shouted at my kindle for Shadow to bloody reign his idiocy in, then I squealed with excitement, and cried at the loss. Absolutely fantastic and can't wait to get started on book 3!!!
Aimed at audiences of 18+ with sexual content and graphic violence not suitable for younger readers!
“You’re the Devil’s Dust.” ... “You have Hell’s fury inside you; it owns you and consumes your thoughts. There is no escaping it. The anger and darkness which is harbored within you will surprise you, making its presence when it sees fit"
The book starts with Dani still in the fbi headquarters being interviewed by her mother , she's no rat so they release her . She goes to the only place she can , back to the Devils dust clubhouse knowing she could be killed the moment she steps in . This is where we see what happens to all the characters after the bust . Did Shadow wait for her ? Can her dad save her?
This read is a rollercoaster of emotions and just a tip have tissues around as you're gonna need them .
This book is well written and laid out very well your never get bored!
This book is gritty and will keep you turning the pages to see what's next, I loved the first and this to continue on just got better :)
Shadow is a man with a dark side and never lets himself get close but a bright eyed girl changes that, Dani is a woman that went from innocent to a firecracker and there love it pushed to the limits and with her mum trying to turn Her against the club this makes them believe she's a rat so the twists and turns of this story is fantastic.
There love story is not the chocolate and roses kind of romance there's love, hurt, sassyiness, killing, and a true gripping story and hot sex too, I love the other characters in this book to and look forward to the next books.
If you haven't read the first its a Must before this one :P
