Product Description

PLOT SUMMARY: Atlanta, 1873. It's another day (Melanie's funeral, in fact), and Scarlett is determined to win back Rhett (who's spending a lot of time with Belle Watling). First, she goes to Tara and spats with Sue Ellen over Tara. Then she goes to Charleston, presenting herself to Rhett's mother and friends, to Rhett's dismay. But when she's caught in a compromising position with Ashely, she retires to her mother's people in Savannah, and her overbearing grandfather Robelard, while Rhett courts a new bride. Scarlett also seeks out her O'Hara relatives and meets her cousin Colum, a priest (and gunrunner). And knowing them, she goes to Ireland. There she meets the handsome Earl of Fenton, who owns Ballyhara, the ancestral home of the O'Haras. And when Scarlett buys it from him, she becomes the financial and spiritual head of the family. But her newfound happiness is short-lived as disasters strike, and she must rely on Rhett's love for her to save her from the gallows. (written by Kathy Li} ABOUT THE DVD: This is a double disc release of the 1994 television mini-series 'Scarlett' (a sequel to Margaret Mitchell's 'Gone With The Wind', though 'Scarlett' is based on the novel written by Alexandra Ripley) for the NETHERLANDS market. The text on the rear of the packaging is in Dutch. It is Region 2 PAL format exactly the same as UK DVDs, so will play on all standard players in this country. The picture is full screen (4:3 ratio), audio is the original English, but the only subtitles available on the discs are Dutch (with an optional off or on - but no English subtitles!). There's scene selection menus on both discs, a feature on the search for Scarlett on the first disc with a 'making of' documentary on the second.

If you loved gone with the wind then you will love this sequel,
A lot of people think that this kind of film is for the more mature person, but believe me I am a young 30 something and ive always loved gone with the wind, I read this book years ago and i was well chuffed when i stumbled across this film. It is truely wonderful, it takes you back and you find yourself lost in it and i watched it all in one go as i couldnt wait to find out what happened next, I think it would have been even better if it still had viveen lee and clark gable but Joanne and Timothy were just as great, so treat yourself to 6 hours of a true gritty love story. hope you enjoy this film.

an enjoyable piece of viewing for any gone with the wind fan, however it is not entirely faithfull to alexanda ripleys excellent sequel, the ending of the story bearing no resemblence what so ever to the novel (a bit of a disappointment!!!) and timothy dalton is certainly no clark gable. Never the less, this video is engaging and entertaining and a must for those who need to know what becomes of scarlett and rhett and the romance of the millenium. Well worth the watching.

An excellent sequel to Gone with the Wind lasting 6 hours, but this goes very quickly. Kilmer plays Scarlett with far more attitude than Vivien Leigh and you warm to her more and Timothy Dalton cuts a dashing figure. I was absolutley glued to this sequel and its much more intimate that the first.
A first class film.

I have searched for this for years since first seeing it on tv.
Although there are changes in the basic plot , the production stands well on it's own merits , I can safely say that I enjoy both the book & the two part series .

The product was received well within the delivery estimate , was well packaged , & in excellent condition, I would buy again from this seller with no hesitation .

I've tried for years to get hold of a copy of this DVD. I was a bit dubious with it being a 'Dutch' import, but my fears were unfounded as it's brilliant. The service and delivery were as stated. I'll be using this company again.

This story is the best possible way in which Gone with the Wind could have concluded. Scarlett travels to Ireland to discover fathers side of the family. The scenes between Rhett and Scarlett are heart-rendering. Once again you meet the old familiar characters from Gone with the Wind, which you learn how they have coped with their devestated lives, especually Ashelys. Rhett saves the day for his Scarlett in a nail biting finale.

I definitely enjoyed this series and could not stop watching it. The main characters' play is amazing and I even enjoyed it more than Gone with the Wind. Scarlett's transformation into a good and mature lady was amazing.
